JUSTIN: * Shane watches her go -- trying not to let his eyes dwell too much on her backside -- and lets out a ragged sigh once she's safely out of hearing range. He immediately rolls across the bed to where his clothes are, shedding the towel and hastily dressing himself. Only when he's fastened the last of the buttons on his shirt does he feel safe and comfortable again, and he flops back onto the bed with a grimace.

JENNA: * Jo shuts the door a little harder than necessary, sighing, and kicks an unoffending towel across the room. then she lets hers fall, running herself some hot water and stepping in before the bath's completely full. She lets it run deep, sinking under it with another, gurgling sigh.

JUSTIN: * Shane takes what's left of his sandwich and finishes it slowly, taking small bites and spending a good deal of time thinking between each. Once it's gone, he goes around the room collecting the clothes that have been hanging around ever since they were put out to dry, and starts to fold them all.

JENNA: * Jo surfaces before too long, not really inclined to soak too long after a pseudo-swim and a bath earlier in the day. She does take her time washing, not particularly wanting to rejoin her companion right away. Giving a backrub while irritated is rarely a good idea. Eventually, however, she can't put things off any longer, and she climbs out of the tub, draining it and toweling off slowly.

JUSTIN: * Shane fairly quickly runs out of clothing to fold, leaving everything in a pile on the table. He moves on to the bed, straightening the pillows and blankets, and then to his pack, replacing items that he'd taken out to dry. After a while he runs out of things to occupy himself with, and he has to settle for sitting on the end of the bed and looking fairly disappointed with himself.

JENNA: * Once she's clothed and can think of no other ways to delay the inevitable, Jo reenters the room, giving a long, comfortable stretch. "You want yours first?" she asks mildly, ambling over to stand in front of him, hands on hips. "If you still want one, anyway."

JUSTIN: * Shane looks up at her, feeling fairly guilty -- he knows exactly why she said that -- and looking nothing less than it. "I... I thought, maybe you'd like yours first?" His eyes drop, and he reaches out to straighten her shirt in a manner that he hopes comes off as casual, smoothing out the fabric. "If... you still want one..."

JENNA: * Jo sighs, reaching a hand out to run her fingers briefly through his hair. "If that's what you want," she says after a moment, releasing him and stepping closer. "I don't mind letting you go first." Then she pauses. "Of course I still want one."

JUSTIN: "If you're sure..." Shane tugs her closer, into his lap, and blushes slightly, finding the strength to match her eyes again finally. "I suppose I'll go first. That way..." He fidgets a little, and busies himself with arranging the edge of her shirt again. "You can get yours right before you go to sleep."

JENNA: "That's fine," Jo says, resting her arms against his shoulders for a moment. Then she smiles faintly, lifting her hand once again to touch his cheek. "Well, you'd better get your shirt off, then. I told you there wasn't any point putting it back on." She reaches up to give his hair a teasing tug.

JUSTIN: * Shane glances down at his shirt, as if he'd completely forgotten what this was all about. "Oh... Right..." He blushes again, and lets go of Jo's shirt, hands tucking between them to start working at his buttons. "Didn't want to catch cold while I was waiting, that's all." He smiles in his most innocent manner, fiddling idly with the buttons and taking his time getting them open.

JENNA: * Jo toys with his hair as she watches him, running her fingers lazily down his cheek to his jaw, then slipping further to fiddle with his collar. "If you're cold, we should probably stay under the covers tonight." She smiles again, her other hand rubbing at the back of his neck.

JUSTIN: * Shane finally pops the last button out, and begins the process of wiggling his way out of the shirt. "I generally do... you're welcome to join me this time." He grins a little, stretching to place a kiss on her cheek, just as one of his arms comes free of its sleeve. He lifts the hand to comb at her hair briefly, then reaches back to yank his shirt off, and flops down onto his back.

JENNA: * Jo grins, waiting until he's settled before settling into her position and drumming her fingers comfortably against his collarbone. She pauses, hands stilling for a moment, then leans forward, uttering a soft sigh before she completes the motion to kiss him gently.

JUSTIN: * Shane murrs a little, mostly just glad that she's as forgiving as she is, because he knows he probably deserves a lot less. He returns her kiss, and wraps her in a hug, stroking at the back of her head. "You're much to good to me, you know." He kisses again, and lets her go, scooting further onto the bed before flipping onto his stomach.

JENNA: * Jo smiles a little wearily, tracing her fingers over his back for a moment before she starts kneading away at his muscles. "I know," she says. "I hope that's not a complaint." She falls silent to concentrate on what she's doing, though she does once or twice move her fingers almost ticklishly over his ribs.

JUSTIN: "No complaining... Just grateful." Shane squirms a bit here and there, but he does his level best to remain still while she works, knowing he could very easily cramp his muscles up again if he isn't careful. He's rather eager for the process to be over, however, as he's -- shockingly -- looking forward to giving Jo her backrub. This causes him no small amount of wonder, but he's certain it must be related to his guilt.

JENNA: * Jo, however, continues to take her time, lingering on his lower back before making her way back up to his shoulders. "You're welcome, then." Once she's relatively certain she's done all she can, she pauses and bends to kiss him again, lips touching the back of his neck and tracing lightly a little way down his back before she lifts her head again.

JUSTIN: * Shane takes a moment to let her work sink in, arching his back slightly as the feel of her lips lingers. He lets out a quiet sigh and turns over, setting a hand to each of her legs, and looking up at her with a shy, appreciative smile. "Ready for your turn?"

JENNA: "If you are," she says with a smile, resting her fingers against his chest. She relaxes, settling back on his lap for a moment, then shifts again, easing herself next to him on the bed and lying down. She rests her head briefly against his shoulder, then grins. "I guess you'll want me to turn around."

JUSTIN: * Shane looks embarrassed by her statement, blushing a bit and turning his eyes away. "I... Well, it would..." He can't really think of an excuse that sounds mature. "Yeah... I guess so. If it's all right with you." He sits up, moving aside to give her room, and rubs at his face in an attempt to hide his obvious discomfort -- discomfort at his own stupidity.

JENNA: * Jo doesn't answer, instead sitting up and turning away to lift her shirt over her head. She then turns to lie down, pillowing her head against her tunic and glancing at him again. "I'm done," she says almost drowsily, then closes her eyes.

JUSTIN: * Shane peers down at her, then nods -- even though she can't see it -- and moves in to settle over her on the bed. "Comfortable, I hope." He makes a pathetic attempt to take her mind away from his immaturity, knowing full well that his refusal to see her nude doesn't sit too well with her. He sets to work immediately, rubbing his hands into her shoulders to work at the muscles, and hopes he can get her to forgive him yet again for his behavior.

JENNA: "I'm fine," Jo says, apparently not nearly as unhappy as Shane about his behavior. She gives a quiet, contented sigh as he gets to work, letting his work ease away any lingering hurt and irritation she's feeling. After all, if nothing else, they have plenty of time -- particularly after the house is built.

JUSTIN: * Shane throws himself into the work (figuratively, of course -- he doesn't want to hurt her), taking it in his usual, over-serious manner. That is, dedicating himself to it as though it's his only way to redeem himself for his day's worth of stupidity. As he nears the end of the backrub, however, he begins to slow his pace. The massage becomes more caress-like, running over the length and breadth of her back, and he leans over to nuzzle between her neck and shoulder. "Better?"

JENNA: "Mm." Jo shifts slightly, reaching her hand up to tousle his hair. "Very nice." She lets her hand drop, opening her eyes halfway with a faint smile and apparently perfectly happy to remain as she is. "You feeling better?" she asks, opening her eyes the rest of the way to look at the wall.

JUSTIN: "Me?" Shane finds the question unexpected, but he quickly overcomes the surprise. "I... suppose so." He gives a slight shrug of his shoulders, and settles his weight down against her as gently as he can. "It wasn't... it's nothing to worry about. You know how I am..." He shifts down a bit, resting his cheek against her upper back, and slips his arms beneath her to wrap around her waist.

JENNA: "Mm," she says again, closing her eyes. "I know. It's all right.. for now." She decides not to discuss the subject further, however, as it's likely to get them nowhere -- slowly and painfully. "I hope it isn't too late," she murmurs, slipping a hand down to touch his briefly before returning it to its post pillowing her head. "What a strange day ..."

JUSTIN: * Shane smiles wearily, his eyes slipping shut as he relaxes into his surprisingly comfortable position against her back. "Caused me to completely lose track of time, I'll give it that..." He stretches a little, as much as he can without actually moving from his spot. "Probably wouldn't be safe to make a habit of our performance today." One of his eyes peeks open, and he quirks a brief grin, giving her a tender squeeze. "Well, maybe certain parts."

JENNA: "Hard to argue with that," she says agreeably, wiggling slightly against his grip. "But .. we'd probably better get some sleep, either way.. or we really will sleep through the day again." She doesn't move much, however, not wanting to dislodge him until he's ready to be dislodged -- particularly since she has yet to retrieve her shirt.

JUSTIN: * Shane answers with a yawn, all attempts to quickly contain it ending in failure. He grunts a bit, and loosens his grip on her slightly, but then he nuzzles into the small of her back immediately after. "Sleep sounds fine..." He places a kiss against her skin, and then reluctantly slides off to the side.

JENNA: * Jo rubs at her eyes, pushing herself upright after a moment and lazily tugging her tunic back on. That done, she turns back to Shane, settling against him and nuzzling his shoulder. "Still need to get under the blankets?" she asks drowsily, settling an arm around his waist.

JUSTIN: * Shane doesn't hesitate to wrap Jo in his arms again, snuggling up with a contented sound. "That depends..." He nuzzles into her hair, finding a comfortable position and staying there. "Do you really want to move again?" He, for the most part, doesn't show any signs in support of the option.

JENNA: "How could I when you're so comfortable?" Jo grins, giving him a slight squeeze before closing her eyes with a faint sigh. There will likely be a great deal to get started on in the morning, but for now she is content to put off thinking about business matters in order to enjoy being warm and comfortable.

JUSTIN: "Good... I was thinking the same thing..." Shane kisses the top of her head, and breathes deep, exhaling slowly as his weight settles into the bed. He returns the squeeze, belatedly, and smiles, already halfway to slumber. "Sweet dreams, Jocasta dear."

JENNA: * Jo makes only a small, indistinct noise in response, most of the way gone herself. It's shortly after that she sinks well away, and whatever she dreams is quickly forgotten. She remains unconscious well past sunrise, in spite of her supposed intentions to wake earlier.

JUSTIN: * Shane remains still and comfortable for the entire night, not once feeling the need to toss or turn. His deep sleep lasts without interruption, as he certainly isn't inclined to wake early. Even when the morning sun is flooding their room, he remains blissfully ignorant of its presence.

JENNA: * It's very late morning when a hesitant knock comes at the door, followed shortly by an apologetic. "Sir? Miss? We.. ah ... we need that tray back.. and we'd like to wash your linens ..." Jo comes awake with a confused jolt, sitting clumsily upright, as she's pinned somewhat by Shane's arms. She's aware she needs to make some kind of response, but coherence isn't high on her capability list right now. "Mnh."

JUSTIN: * The movement causes Shane to roll away slightly, but he doesn't show any immediate signs of waking. He curls up a bit, compensating for the lack of Jo's warmth, and murmurs quietly in his sleep. Nestling into his pillow, he yawns expressively and goes back to silence.

JENNA: * Jo shuffles out of bed, willing to deal with him later, and gathers up the dishes and drags the tray to the door, opening it groggily. The girl smiles weakly at her appearance. "Ah.. the linens.." Jo glances over her shoulder. "Later.. I'll wake him up." She rubs at one eye, and the woman nods, taking the tray and vanishing down the hall. Jo shuts the door and goes back to the bed, crawling over next to Shane and leaning over him for a moment, debating whether she wants to wake him or go back to sleep.

JUSTIN: * Shane twitches a bit in his sleep, subconsciously aware that there is something looming over him. He rolls onto his back, and stretches, eyes remaining shut, and lets out a quiet, sleepy moan. One of his arms bumps against her, and his hand subsequently stretches out to investigate, tangling in her shirt.

JENNA: * Jo sighs, plucking his hand away before it can do any significant harm to itself, and lowers her weight against him, letting his hand fall where it will after that. She folds one arm across his chest, reaching the other up to run through his hair for a moment before she pulls herself up to kiss him lightly.

JUSTIN: * Shane kisses back at her lips instinctively, and the affectionate touch does more than all the rest of her actions combined, bringing him gently to wakefulness. His eyes crack open, and he lets out a contented sigh, watching her face through half-lidded eyes. "Mm... good morning..."

JENNA: "It might still be morning," she says drily, bending to kiss him again before pulling back once more. "Girl just stopped by.. they want to wash the sheets." She nuzzles against his neck briefly before making to ease off him and get out of bed to let the maid do just that.

JUSTIN: * Shane gurgles quietly, much preferring the idea of staying in bed. But then, staying in bed all day is what led to his being so tired in the first place. "Do they need to wash them today...?" He asks anyway, in spite of his better reasoning. It's too early for reason. "Why not... tonight?"

JENNA: "Because they sleep at night." Jo scoots away, catching hold of his arm and tugging lightly before she slips to the floor. "Besides .. we have things to do today, right?" She snatches up her boots, plopping backward on the bed to pull them on, then gives a long stretch.

JUSTIN: "Do we?" Shane lets her pull at him, flopping back to the bed again when she lets go. "Refresh my memory..." An odd request, since the only time his memory usually fails is when it's doing so on purpose. He slowly, reluctantly, wiggles his way closer to the side of the bed, until his front half slides off the edge and onto the floor. For the time being, he seems content to remain like that.

JENNA: "Mmhm. We're going to figure out where to build the house." Jo glances over at him and arches a brow, getting to her feet. "That's a prime target, you know. If you don't want it slapped, you better get it out of my way." She slips around the bed, looking for all the world as if she's about to make good on that threat.

JUSTIN: * Shane quickly squirms the rest of the way off the bed with a quiet thump, and scrambles up to his feet. He takes a moment to get his balance, swaying side to side and looking more drunk than awake. "You don't have to threaten..." He rubs at his face, turning a disinterested eye to look around the room in search of his shirt. "Besides, you put yours in my way all the time."

JENNA: "Then you're well within your rights to do the same to me," Jo says comfortably, catching his shirt up and offering it to him. "I don't know the area very well.. so I guess we can see what there is on the shoreline first ..." She speaks mostly to herself, ambling over to her pack and pulling out some bread and cheese for breakfast.

JUSTIN: * Shane snorts, taking his shirt and pulling it on lazily. He works at the buttons, doing his best not to wobble like a cripple as he continues the fight toward wakefulness. "And why would I want to do that? Spanking is for children..." He yawns again, dropping onto the bed and willing his boots to walk over and attach themselves to his feet.

JENNA: "Depends on who you ask," Jo mutters, taking a bite of cheese and hoping for a moment he didn't actually hear that. "Think we should take the pecos? They haven't been out in a couple days.. probably getting lazy." She gets another chunk of bread out and offers it to Shane. As far as she's concerned, they can have a nice, big dinner when they get back.

JUSTIN: * Shane eyes the bread for a moment, and then stretches out to take it. "When aren't they getting lazy?" He sniffs at the bread, before remembering he had some just the night before, and then partakes of a bite. Chewing idly at it, he turns a glance at his boots, still sitting very motionless by the door, and frowns. "I wish I was a wizard..."

JENNA: "You're just lazy. Move your legs, I'm sure they work." Jo polishes off her cheese and starts in on the bread, glancing at the door once or twice in case the maid is coming back. "Besides, if we find a spot today, it'll make things go that much faster, right?"

JUSTIN: * Shane murmurs something non-commital, and gets to his feet with a great deal of effort. "I guess..." He makes his way to the door and flops hard onto his butt with a grunt, pawing at his boots a few times before he manages to coax them close enough to grab. Untying the laces with plodding slowness, he yawns again and turns Jo a sideways glance. "You just want to get out and do some walking, don't think I don't know your real motives."

JENNA: "There's nothing wrong with walking, is there?" Jo finishes the bread, ambling over to snag her pack and close it. She then nudges him with her foot and crouches next to him. "It's good for you, remember?"

JUSTIN: "So's sleeping. 'Specially when you're tired." He finishes tying his boots finally, and yawns. "But I never said there was anything wrong with walking. Just wanted to let you know... that I know..." He reaches up and loops his arms around Jo's waist, then promptly flops onto his back, taking her with him. "That you have alterior motives."

JENNA: * Jo squawks, tumbling onto her rump before letting him carry her farther back, then rolling to rest against his chest. "If you sleep too much, you never will feel rested ..." She bends to kiss him lingeringly, then prods him firmly in the ribs. "Ulterior motives or no ... it does need to be done."

JUSTIN: * Shane leans up to steal a few more kisses from her before she can get away, then falls back again and stares up at her with a look of resignation. "I guess I can't argue with the truth." He moves a hand to tweak her nose, and smiles slimly. "It was my idea, wasn't it?"

JENNA: "It most certainly was." She kisses him one last time before pushing herself upright and getting to her feet. She bends to offer him a hand up. "The faster we get started, the faster we get done, hm? And the faster those plans get started."

JUSTIN: * Shane accepts her hand up, climbing to his feet and stretching liberally upon arrival. "Mmhm..." He lets his arms down with a sigh, swinging them for a moment at his side. "And then I suppose you get to sit around and be bored for a long time." He smirks, reaching past her to get his coat, and then folds it under his arm.

JENNA: "I'm sure I'll find a way to keep busy," Jo says with a smile. "There are rivers here, and plenty of land to explore. And the ocean." She gives a faint shrug and pushes the door open, slipping into the hall.

JUSTIN: * Shane snorts lightly, following her out into the hallway and shutting the door quietly behind. "I forget -- you don't need a particular hobby, just someplace to get dirty." He grins teasingly, giving the back of her hair a gentle tug on the way to the stairs. "Not that there's anything wrong about being friendly with nature."

JENNA: "My hobbies just happen to involve getting wet and getting dirty," Jo retorts, trotting down the steps and hopping over the last few. "But I suppose at least here you can borrow someone's kitchen to cook the fish I catch." With that, she trots out the front door, eager after two days of relative inactivity to get back to moving around.

JUSTIN: "One hopes I can still cook after all this time." Shane takes the last few steps with a bit less enthusiasm, ambling out the door behind her with a slight quickening of his pace to keep up. "It's been a long time since I last had a kitchen to use. I wouldn't say chopping vegetables in your parents' kitchen quite counts."

JENNA: "Dad used to say Mom only invited people into her kitchen so that they could watch her cook." Jo grins over her shoulder, shrugging. "You'll have time to practice, I guess." She makes her way to the stables, glancing in to see the birds shuffling around their stalls. They squawk at the approach of their masters, as hostile as ever at the idea of work.

JUSTIN: * Shane tuts, pulling his coat on as they round the corner to enter the stables. "I can't say I blame her... I'd likely do the same. Never had the opportunity, though." He leans against one of the wooden support posts and crosses his arms over his chest, watching the birds fluff their feathers and otherwise look as indignant as possible. "Just when I start to feel the least bit guilty about my laziness, I just have to think of them, and I feel a whole lot better."

JENNA: "You resist almost as much," Jo remarks, heading over to saddle her bird in spite of its protests. "But you aren't nearly as hostile." She smacks it firmly on the beak when it makes a grab for her pack, and it subsides with only minor feather-ruffling. "So, we start along the shore?" she asks.

JUSTIN: * Shane ignores the comparison, heading over to get his bird saddled and ready. "Along the shore. Nice view of the ocean, just like you want." He smiles lazily, his peco doing its best to dance around and make his job difficult. Luckily for the bird, he's in no hurry. "And a brief walk away from a midnight swim, hm?"

JENNA: "Always a bonus," Jo replies agreeably, though she's willing to sacrifice a shorter walk for stable ground. She leads her peco out of the stable before swinging into the saddle, looking around absently and tweaking the bird's feathers. "At least we didn't sleep through 'til evening."

JUSTIN: * Shane isn't too far behind her, finally getting the bird to resign itself to its duty, and he swing up into the saddle on his way out to the road. "Should make it easier to survey, in any case." He trots up beside Jo and leans forward to adjust his bird's bridle. "You're the expedition leader, so I'll let you lead the way."

JENNA: * Jo shrugs at this and starts for the road, taking it past the town and toward the beach. They get through town with almost no human contact, and Jo pauses at the beach before turning her bird toward the land close by, starting up the slope. After a little while she begins to hum, apparently quite pleased with having a purpose, for the moment.

JUSTIN: * While Shane doesn't necessarily find contentment just in the fact that they're out-and-about, he is thrilled at the thought of finally getting his house built. A house that will be well worth the loss of the one he left behind -- if only because he'll have someone to share it with. Jo's apparent good cheer only bolsters his mood that much more, and for once he's actually somewhat glad that she dragged him out of bed.

JENNA: * They track along the beach for several hours, zig-zagging and criss-crossing on a somewhat uneven path. Jo does, for the most part, keep in easy distance from the village, and it's when evening comes that she stops, calling a halt near the river as the sun goes down. "Don't mind camping, do you? I'll catch some fish."

JUSTIN: "I should think that by now, I'd be fairly used to camping outdoors, Jo." Shane grins, getting his peco tied up to a slender tree near the riverside clearing. "Though it's just my luck I'd be paying for an inn room back in town, while we sleep on our cloaks next to the river." He sets out some feed for it and its companion, ambles over to start kicking debris away from where they'll be making a fire.

JENNA: * Jo shrugs, tying her peco up near his. "We can probably afford it ... at least for now." She smiles faintly, gathering some wood and dropping it near Shane before heading back to her pack for some fishing gear. "How hungry are you?" she asks, tugging the slender line free and looking over at him.

JUSTIN: * Shane plops down next to the wood to start arranging it for a fire, giving his shoulders a roll, and following up with a long stretch. "Mm. As hungry as a man who's only had a few bites of bread all day, if that tells you anything." He sets to work, humming quietly, and turns her a glance and a smile.

JENNA: "Two then," she says lazily, turning to the river and ambling toward it. "I'll be back shortly, then, if they're biting," she remarks, and trots the rest of the way to the riverside, settling down comfortably and sending her line into the water. It seems as though there are plenty of fish or not many fishermen, and she has her first bite in moments.

JUSTIN: * Shane takes his time getting a good fire going, sculpting it with careful arrangement of the wood. He glances over his shoulder a few times, to watch Jo, before flopping out on his back and stretching again. He's only down for a brief moment before he hops back to his feet, however, and wanders over to the river to plop down beside Jo. "How're the natives taking to your baiting?"

JENNA: "Apparently they're hungry," Jo says drily, as she's already hooked another and is working on her third. "I'd feel sorry for them if I weren't so hungry myself," she says, grinning faintly as the third fish tugs on her line. She has it landed in moments, setting it aside and dropping the line in the water for the last bit of their dinner.

JUSTIN: "They eat their share of other critters, they can't complain if some critter eats them." Shane grins, petting at Jo's hair idly as he watches her recent catch flopping helplessly on the cloth laid out for it. "But you're right. Hard to pity the things when you've got an ache in your gut."

JENNA: "Not that I feel a lot of empathy for fish anyway." She gets a final tug on her line and wrestles for a moment with the fish, a little more stubborn than its brethren, then yanks it out of the water with a flick of her wrist. "Sticks?" she asks curiously, winding the line and looking over at Shane.

JUSTIN: * Shane reaches a hand back to ruffle the hair on the back of his head, looking momentarily guilty. "Oh, right. Guess I should get some, shouldn't I?" He sighs lightly and gets to his feet, giving Jo's head one last pet before he turns back toward the camp. "I should really buy some proper skewers, save us the trouble in the future."

JENNA: "It's no big deal," Jo says with a faint smile. "I usually gather them myself." Instead, she turns to scoop up the fish, starting back for the fire. She seats herself once she reaches it, tugging out her knife and setting to work cleaning their dinner. "You'll have more options in the future, I guess."

JUSTIN: * Shane wanders around the edge of the campsite, looking for some decent sticks to use for the task. "Well, a little convenience never hurts." He grins a bit, returning to sit by her once he's found some decent candidates. "But I guess it's not something I'll have to worry about for much longer, is it?" He nudges her gently, grabbing a knife from his pack and settling in to work.

JENNA: "I suppose not," Jo replies lazily, not completely prepared to argue the matter of her severely mixed feelings on the house. "They'd be useful for when we do travel, though." She turns to him when she's finished cleaning the fish, watching him trim the sticks for cooking.

JUSTIN: * Shane shrugs his shoulders lightly, continuing to widdle the bark away, and lazily forming the ends into sharp spikes. When he's finished with the first stick, he hands it over to Jo, and then gets to work on the next. "True enough. I suppose there are a few things that could make the trail more comfortable, but that might just ruin the point of camping." He looks at her out of the corner of his eyes, smiling in a teasing manner.

JENNA: * Jo doesn't answer, turning away to pick up one of the fish and skewer it neatly, following it with a second. She anchors them in the dirt and waits for the second stick, staring into the fire. "You want all the convenience you can get when it's not just for fun," she remarks, shrugging. "It doesn't matter, though ... we can afford whatever we need."

JUSTIN: * Shane finishes the second stick soon after the first, and he sets it down beside her. "I suppose..." With his work done, he puts the knife away and scoots around behind her, resting his head against her own. "It's quite a change. I'm not used to being able to have whatever I want. Almost seems like overly complicating things, doesn't it?"

JENNA: "Mm." Jo takes the stick and skewers the other fish, setting them with the first set. "I don't really like having nothing to do ... but we can always make something to do. I guess." She watches the fish quietly for a moment. "Not to say.. I'm unhappy. We got very lucky.. but it's strange."

JUSTIN: * Shane shifts, moving a hand to either side of Jo's head and combing her hair back with his fingers, tucking locks behind her ears. "We'll adjust, yes? I suppose it's a much bigger change for you than for me. I'm going to do my best to keep you from being bored." He smiles, kissing at the top of her head, and then moves aside. "Now go wash up, before you accidently get fishguts on me."

JENNA: "No accident about it," Jo replies drily, but she gets to her feet and goes back to the river to wash her hands, lingering for a while near the cool water before she returns to the fire. She flicks a few droplets absently at Shane before settling next to him and leaning wearily against him.

JUSTIN: * Shane swipes at the back of his neck where the water hits, and tuts, turning her a slim smirk. He accepts her weight, shifting again to accomadate her more comfortably, and slides an arm around her shoulders. "Now, let me see--" He moves his free hand around to take her own, as if to inspect it front and back, and rubs his thumb across her palm a few times affectionately. "Better."

JENNA: * Jo sniffs. "I still have 'em. I can drop 'em down your shirt if you annoy me." She doesn't do any such thing, however, resting her head against him instead and trapping his hand with both hers. "So you'd be better off behaving yourself." She glances at the fish and frowns. Clearly they are not cooking fast enough.

JUSTIN: * Shane puts on a look of innocence, pouting slightly at her. "That you would even think I'd misbehave, it cuts me to the bone." He follows her eyes to the fish, and moves his arm from her shoulders for a moment to stroke at her hair again. "Something wrong with your fish? You don't look too too pleased with them."

JENNA: "Nothing more than usual," she murmurs. "They're taking their time." She sighs, reaching over to turn the sticks and giving a slight stretch. "Oh well." She turns back to Shane, shifting to lie down and stretch her legs out and resting her head against his leg. "Just more waiting, I guess." She sighs again, gazing at the fire through half-lidded eyes.

JUSTIN: * Shane leans over to look down at her face, smiling softly at her. "Good things come to those who wait, Jocasta." He brushes at her hair, swiping loose strands away from her face.
