067: Midnight Swim

JUSTIN: * Shane can certainly admit that's likely the case, though he sees no point in continuing to talk about dead people, and thusly doesn't bother to vocalize it. He follows along after Jo, glancing up at the night sky and smiling at the sight, mostly free of clouds. There's a gentle breeze, and it's neither too hot nor too cold. "Pleasant evening, wouldn't you say so?"

JENNA: "Mmhm." Jo stretches again, pausing in place to enjoy the feel of the breeze before she starts walking. "I wonder what winters are like around here." She scratches her cheek, having experienced them everywhere from Al De Baran to Morroc. Given how far north they are, she guesses cold and snowy.

JUSTIN: * Shane picks up his pace long enough to get beside her, folding his arms comfortably behind his back. "If they're anything like most winters I've experienced, cold and snowy." He turns his eyes toward the docks, moving a hand to scratch at his cheek. "Then again, I've never experienced a winter by the ocean. Maybe it's a bit different."

JENNA: "Cold, snowy and wet," Jo volunteers, winding her way around a couple of rocks. "It never got cold in Morroc ... but we did get some snow in Prontera." She thinks a moment, then shrugs. "I remember ..." She falls silent, however, as everything she remembers about wintering in Prontera is not pleasant.

JUSTIN: "Remember what?" Shane turns her a sideways glance, then reaches an arm around her to rest a hand against her opposite hip. He's momentarily distracted from the question, or expectation of an answer, as they round the corner and the beach comes into view in the distance. "Looks like I was right about having the beach to ourselves."

JENNA: "Mm." Jo returns the gesture, wrapping her arm around his waist and nudging closer. "I remember coming back to the fire after a day outside ... with something hot to drink." She shakes her head with a slight shrug. "And I remember standing outside the door and almost knocking a year or two later, after I'd left." She shrugs again. "It was a bad winter."

JUSTIN: * Shane gives Jo a good squeeze, snuzzling into her hair for a bit and leaving navigation up to her. "Warm fires and hot drinks don't sound half bad... I guess a decent fireplace should be a nice addition, along with your bath." He smiles a bit, and leans to scoop her up into his arms, continuing to walk along toward the beach without a pause. "It's a good thing we've got a bit of money, at the rate I'm adding things to the list."

JENNA: * Jo squawks slightly when he scoops her up, nestling against him after a moment and sighing comfortably. "Well, if we didn't have the money, we wouldn't be getting a house ... might as well make the most of it." She pauses, looking momentarily uncomfortable. "Have you thought about ... where you want to build it?"

JUSTIN: * Shane glances down at her, then back to the path ahead of him (a trip would be fairly embarrassing, not mention painful) before he answers. "Well, I... had a couple of ideas, I guess." He shrugs slightly, looking mildly embarrassed for some reason. His eyes find her again for another moment, and he shifts his hold on her subconsciously. "...have you?"

JENNA: "I.." Jo hesitates, lifting her shoulders slightly before turning her head to rest against him for a moment. "I thought it .. would be nice to see the ocean," she offers awkwardly, feeling a strong embarrassment of her own. She opens her mouth to speak, but she really can't think of anything else to say for the moment and settles for waiting for his response.

JUSTIN: * Shane smiles a little, quite happy that the limited light is masking his blush quite adequately. "I think that sounds like a perfect idea." His feet finally hit beach, and he gives Jo a long hug before setting her down to enjoy the sand, still warm from the day's sun. "Tucked away for privacy, but within walking distance of civilization... I suppose we'd need to set up by a smaller town, don't you think?"

JENNA: * Jo nods, borrowing his arm for a moment as she gets her balance, though she doesn't relinquish it immediately, instead starting for the water with her arm twined around his. "It wouldn't be so bad here," she says finally, pausing when they reach the water's edge.

JUSTIN: "You think so?" Shane doesn't seem the least bit bothered by her hold on his arm, reaching over with his opposite hand to rub a bit at her own. "I suppose it fits all the criteria, doesn't it?" He smiles a bit, staring out at the moon reflecting off the dark ocean waters. He's relieved that he wasn't ridiculous for considering the same thing. "And it's convenient... being in the Republic, I mean. I know it probably doesn't mean much to you, being the traveller that you are, but it's less for me to worry about..."

JENNA: "Closer to Juno than I'd like, though," she says with a faint smile, ambling farther into the water and pausing to tug the legs of her trousers up. "But anywhere in the Republic would be ..." The smile turns into a grin as she straightens. "Have to find out when market days are, though."

JUSTIN: * Shane tosses his boots back onto the beach behind him, and dislodges his arm from Jo's to let her do her thing -- which is likely going to consist of getting wet. "Oh, it's not that bad. I suppose most of the problems we have with Juno are our own faults, anyway." He slips his hands into his pockets, watching her with a small smile. "If you want, I won't put a window on the western side of the house. That way you won't have to worry about seeing Juno against the sun when it sets." His lips twitch into a slightly broader grin.

JENNA: * Jo pads around in the water for a moment, walking in knee deep before she looks back at Shane. "That won't be necessary," she says drily, flipping a small wave of water at him, though it falls well short of its goal. "I guess ... we'll have to look for a place now. And find someone to build it."

JUSTIN: * Shane watches the water spatter against the sand some feet in front of him, and smirks, finally giving in and rolling up his pantlegs with a shake of his head. "Well, I doubt finding someone to build it will be a problem. A small village like this is bound to have a dedicated carpenter and mason." He steps warily into the water, decently surprised to find the water about the same temperature as the air.

JENNA: "Then I guess it's mostly a matter of finding a spot ..." She turns, surveying the area along the shore, some of it hilly and most of it free of trees. "But that's probably better done in daylight." She turns back to the water with a contented sigh. "It'll be nice to be this close to a swimming hole," she remarks, in spite of the fact that the ocean constitutes slightly more than a swimming hole.

JUSTIN: * Shane chuckles, walking up alongside her and kicking some water out ahead of him. "With a bathtub as big as you're getting, who needs an ocean?" He reaches out and snags her, gently pulling her around into a hug, watching her face with a smile. "Plenty of fish, though, if you can get used to fishing from a boat."

JENNA: "I wonder," she murmurs, nestling against him for a moment before returning the hug. "Plenty of other meat around, too, considering," she says, then leans comfortably against him for a moment, letting the water lap at her legs. "I guess we'll always have a job if they ever have trouble with lizards again."

JUSTIN: * Shane lets out a quiet snort, settling his cheek against the top of Jo's head and watching the moonlight shimmer on the distant waves. "One would hope they learned their lesson." He lets his eyes drift half-closed, rubbing at Jo's back slowly. "Then again, maybe I should give these folks a lesson in self-defense, just in case." A slight smile curls his lips.

JENNA: "I doubt you'll need to ... if they were this badly prepared, it probably doesn't happen very often." She grins, nuzzling him. It occurs to her to wonder where the lizards came from, as she hasn't seen anything like them here or anywhere else she's been, but that's an exploration for another day. "Besides, if something disastrous happens, we'll need an alternate source of income."

JUSTIN: * Shane scritches at the back of Jo's neck, nuzzling into her hair. "Mmm, I suppose so. Knowing us, our luck can't last forever." He gives her side a slight tickle with his other hand, trapping her against him with his first, and grins. "Can't put all our eggs in one basket."

JENNA: "Always need a fallback plan," Jo agrees comfortably, tightening her grip slightly. Much as she likes to be prepared for them, disasters are not her favorite subject. "I've gotten to where I can't tell good luck from bad luck anymore," she yawns. "Guess it doesn't matter ..."

JUSTIN: * Shane tilts her head back a bit, and leans his in to touch foreheads, smiling down at her sweetly. "Good luck, bad luck. I wonder which you'd consider me -- if you could still tell the difference." His teeth bare in a brief grin, and he strokes his hands up and down her sides a few times.

JENNA: * Jo sniffs, then tilts her head up to kiss him briefly. "It varies from day to day," she says mockingly, sliding her hand lazily up his spine. "Most thieves would consider having a guard latch onto them the worst kind of luck possible, you know."

JUSTIN: * Shane smirks, planting another kiss against her lips when she's done. "Most guards would consider having a career thief paying a visit to their city the worst luck possible." He sniffs, looking mock-indignant for a second, then lifts a hand to cup the side of her face. "I suppose the only good luck was that it wasn't just any guard, and it wasn't just any thief."

JENNA: * Jo smiles faintly. "Definitely ..." She wrinkles her nose, and the smiles curves into a grin. "I could never understand why you wouldn't just go away. Anybody else ..." She shrugs, turning her head slightly to kiss his palm. "I guess that makes you ridiculously persistent."

JUSTIN: "Well, I'm nothing if not determined..." Shane grins a bit, and hugs her closer to kiss her forehead. "I guess occasionally it works out in my favor." Stroking her cheek with his thumb, he moves his other hand to the back of her head to offer a similar treatement, and tilts his head down to kiss her lips again. "For a master thief, you didn't do too well in shaking me."

JENNA: "I'm hardly a master thief," she murmurs, kissing him again. "But it was a living." She smiles, giving his shirt a tug. "I think you had some luck along the way, though ... even if it was in the form of Avery." A certain amount of mischief creeps into her expression at the mention of his apparent arch-nemesis.

JUSTIN: * Shane rolls his eyes dramatically -- though whether it's exaggerated or not is difficult to tell. "Don't... remind me." His head droops, forehead resting against the top of her head, and he sighs. "At least I was a good guard, who made one very stupid decision..." He snuggles into her more, and curls his toes into the wet sand. "Unlike Avery, my one affair with stupidity paid off. If he was any more intelligent..."

JENNA: "If he was any more intelligent .... I wouldn't have been running the gang." She grins again, rubbing lazily at Shane's back. "He's a lot bigger than me, in case you hadn't noticed." She closes her eyes drowsily, recalling a number of scraps with the man before the pecking order had been firmly established. "I'm sure Prontera had a use for someone who knew the back streets."

JUSTIN: "I have my doubts... Considering he has a penchant for letting the thieves get away." Shane lets out a quiet exhale, relaxing a bit into Jo's welcome attentions. "Suppose I should stop complaining, either way." He smiles tightly, and slowly starts to walk Jo further into the water.

JENNA: "He let an old friend get away ... and you're right, if he hadn't, we'd be in a very different situation, wouldn't we?" She glances back over her shoulder, letting him shift her backward. She arches an eyebrow looking up at him idly. "Aren't we wearing a bit much for a swim?"

JUSTIN: * Shane's shoulders shrug non-chalantly, and he continues to smile down at her. "Don't know what you're talking about." His arms tighten around her waist, and he continues to slowly walk her backward, the water already rising above their rolled-up pantlegs.

JENNA: "I'm sure you don't ..." Jo snorts, but she lets him do as he pleases, relatively certain she won't come to any harm. Her grip on him tightens in turn -- if he plans to dunk her, he's going down with her. "If I drown, I'll haunt you as revenge."

JUSTIN: * Shane grins deviously, lowering his head to kiss at her shoulder, where the collar of his shirt is too wide to properly conceal it. "I can think of worse fates than being haunted by a beautiful woman." As if to alleviate her mock fears, he spins them around so that it's his back to the ocean, and continues to lead her with him into deeper water -- now approaching their waists.

JENNA: * Jo grins, slipping one hand up to tug at his collar. "You sure you have a plan, now?" she asks mildly. "I'd hate to get out to open water without a boat." She doesn't seem particularly perturbed, however, slipping her hand up behind his neck and tugging him down into a kiss.

JUSTIN: * Shane kisses back, sliding his hands down to grab hold of her waist and hoist her up -- just as he kicks himself off the sandy bottom to let himself drift backwards against the waves. His lips part with hers, and he grins, watching her face with a mix of affection and mischief, the small waves lapping at his shoulders. "Plans are overrated."

JENNA: * Jo startles at first, then forces her shoulders and back to relax, sighing as she leans her head briefly against him. "And now I need another bath." She grins, however, letting her gaze drift past him to the dark waters. "We'll just float back to the island and say hello to the valkyrie, then?" She reaches over lazily to tug his hair.

JUSTIN: * Shane puffs a breath at his bangs, and smiles boyishly, lazily paddling his feet beneath the water to keep the waves from sending them straight back to shore. "She is awfully lonely." He reaches a wet hand up to her face, brushing it back through her hair. "And I somehow doubt you're bothered by the thought of another bath. It's me we should be worried about."

JENNA: "I doubt you'd complain about another bath, either." Jo dangles one hand lazily in the water, reaching behind him to prod gently at his back. "It's relaxing. Like swimming." She grins, bringing her hand out of the water to flick a few droplets at him. "So I don't want any complaints."

JUSTIN: * Shane wrinkles his nose, squinting his eyes against the water assault. "I can hardly complain, considering I did it to myself." He leans upward to nip at her chin, and smirks. "But don't tempt me, I'm sure I could find something to whine about." His hands slide down her back, rubbing idly where the bottom of her shirt billows in the waves.

JENNA: "You probably could." Jo sniffs, leaning in closer to kiss him and pulling away before the motion can unbalance them. "But I won't let you." She relaxes against him, closing her eyes for a moment and hoping he'll resume his pleasant treatment of her back. She lets her hand drop down into the water again, sighing softly and opening her eyes a slit to look out at the water again.

JUSTIN: "Oh no? Well, I wonder if I should put that to the test." Shane rubs his fingers at her lower back, safely distracted from the thoughts that usually cause him panic. At least for this moment, he's feeling brave. "How would you stop me if I tried?" He grins a little, then presses his lips against her chin, holding them there for a moment before moving on to her lips.

JENNA: * Jo holds him in the kiss for a few moments, enjoying the two sensations of his mouth and his hand, then breaks it long enough to arch an eyebrow and grin. "That's one way ..." She kisses him again, more briefly this time, then pulls back to grin even wider. "Or I could punch you ... I'm pretty good at that, too."

JUSTIN: * Shane's hands slide up her back more, rubbing in small circles along her spine as he goes. "Hm, let me think about that one for a moment. Would you be punching me in the same place you kiss?" Grinning boyishly, his eyes begin to wander down, and he moves a hand to straighten the shirt over her shoulder. His fingers smooth out the fabric, and slowly begin to migrate down along her collar, and trail along the line of buttons -- before he stops, giving his head a slight shake, and slips them back around to her back.

JENNA: * Jo gives a faint exhalation, not quite a sigh -- just enough to indicate she'd apparently been holding her breath, then leans her head down to nuzzle his neck briefly. When she looks up again, her expression is amused. "That depends ... wouldn't want to do too much damage, would I?"

JUSTIN: * Shane arches an eyebrow, mouth twitching in a manner indicating he isn't sure how he should react to that comment. "Damage with your fist... or damage with your kiss?" He tilts his body a little further upright in the water, and nuzzles into her hair, lips pressing against her forehead. "Maybe I shouldn't wonder."

JENNA: "Probably safer that way," Jo replies agreeably, tucking an arm around him and relaxing. "Better to just surprise you, either way." She grins a little wickedly, trailing her fingers up his back. She toys momentarily with the idea of slipping her hand under his shirt, but she dismisses it almost as soon as it comes. "Wouldn't do to have you knowing what to expect."

JUSTIN: * Shane tuts quietly, a small smirk appearing on his lips. "You give me enough surprises, I'm not sure if I can handle any more." He arches his back a little as her fingers move along his back, and moves his fingers to trace up and down her sides in response. "Maybe I just need a little more training." With that, he cracks a wry grin.

JENNA: "That can be arranged," Jo says drily, prodding him mockingly, then she gives a faint shrug and leans gently against him. "Then I'd have to come up with something new ..." She gives him a slight squeeze, staring vaguely out over the water. The moon's position is slowly changing, causing the glint of light on the waves to shift positions.

JUSTIN: * Shane nestles into her hair again, bringing up a hand to stroke at the back of her head and neck. "And I suppose I'll just have to expect the unexpected for the foreseeable future." His own eyes watch the shore, and beyond, to the small village nestled just off the beach. Nearly every light is off in each house, making the moon and stars the predominant sources of illumination.

JENNA: "More fun that way," Jo says drowsily, giving him a slight squeeze. "Well ... as long as it doesn't involve shipwrecks." Which it shouldn't, for the foreseeable future, as far as she's concerned. "It must be getting late."

JUSTIN: "It must be..." Shane echoes her, continuing to comb his fingers through her hair. At first, it doesn't seem like he's aware of the words they both just spoke, as he appears perfectly content to continue what he was doing. After a moment, however, he eases back from her, and places a soft, lingering kiss against her forehead. "I suppose we both need a bath before we run out of time, hm?"

JENNA: * Jo sighs, leaning back lazily to look up at him. "Probably ... we're already going to sleep in late as it is." She smiles a little regretfully, tugging gently toward the shore. "Well .. we'll be here a while.. right? We can always swim again some other time." And maybe next time not fully clothed. Though she doesn't bother adding this aloud.

JUSTIN: "After we've got ourselves a little house of our own, we can swim whenever the it strikes our fancy." Shane smiles, scooping Jo up again, once his feet find the bottom, and carries her back to shore. "And anything else you might want." He sets her feet down against the sand, and grabs his boots, knotting the laces together quickly so he can sling them over his shoulder.

JENNA: "The pecos will be happy," she says with a lazy grin. "A long break, less work, and a stable all to themselves." She starts up the beach, giving a long stretch and scuffing her feet comfortably in the sand. Then she pauses, looking back over her shoulder. "It's going to be strange owning more property than I can carry on my back ..."

JUSTIN: * Shane slips his arm around her waist, leaning his weight gently against her as he steers them back toward the village roads. "Oh, I don't know. You've got a lot of strength in that compact, little body of yours." He bares a grin, poking her stomach. "Though I'm not sure the house would survive being uprooted like that. And as for those lazy birds, I'll make sure they get plenty of exercise, whether they want it or not."

JENNA: "Loan them to the ranchers," she snorts briefly. "I'm sure they can make use for them." She curves an arm around his waist, grinning. "I doubt I can lift a house anyway ... it'd be pretty clumsy to carry around." She rests her weight against him, though it's probably not much match for his, looking ahead to the darkened lights of the town.

JUSTIN: * Shane readjusts himself take her weight, easing his own off of her. "And would rather defeat the purpose, I suppose." He rubs idly at her side, feeling the water dripping down her in rivulets. A slight smile quirks the corner of his lips, and he plucks at the shirt sticking to her skin. "I guess it's my turn to wash the clothes, isn't it?"

JENNA: "Mm, that would be nice of you, wouldn't it?" She catches his hand lazily, twining her fingers with his and tugging his hand up to her mouth to kiss it gently. "It is mostly yours that need the wash now anyway." She pinches at his shirt from the other side, prodding him teasingly.

JUSTIN: * Shane smirks, and glances down at himself -- looking like he just washed up from another shipwreck. "I knew I should have made you change your shirt." He places his free hand over hers, where it's attached to his waist, and squeezes. "Not to say I wouldn't do the washing even if it wasn't the case." He leans over to kiss the side of her head. "Because I'm a gentleman."

JENNA: "Of course you are." Jo smirks briefly, turning her head to nuzzle him. "A gentleman who chases a girl halfway around the world ... and mostly against her will ... not that I'm complaining." She wrinkles her nose, giving a soft sigh and leaning heavily against him. "Guess I'll let you have the bath first, then."

JUSTIN: * Shane hugs her against him, grinning lazily. "That's very generous of you, Jocasta. Expecting something in return?" His fingers curl in the bottom of her shirt, idly twisting it until water runs from the fabric. "Or are you just feeling especially giving this evening?"

JENNA: "Well, you are washing the clothes." She tugs lazily at his shirt before walking her fingers mockingly up his chest. "But I wouldn't say no to a full-body massage. ... Or maybe just a backrub." She huffs a mock-sigh, giving him a slight shove as she starts for the inn again.

JUSTIN: * Shane snorts, taking her hand from his chest to kiss her palm. "I'll consider it." He slides her a sideways look, and smiles sheepishly. "A backrub might be in order." As they round the corner and make for the inn, he rolls his shoulders, making a thoughtful sound. "Wonder who needs one more?"

JENNA: * Jo sniffs, reaching her hand around to trail her fingers up his back. "I can probably manage one for you too ... but how are you going to pay me back for that?" She grins, rubbing her fingers in a lazy circle and working her way down his spine. "I guess we can figure something out later ..."

JUSTIN: "Later, yes." Shane grins, his back arching under Jo's treatment, and he squirms a bit before he gets it back under control -- though the tingling sensation stays with him for a while afterward. He squeezes at her side, leading her up to the inn door before he lets go and pushes it open. "I'm sure you'll want to give it some thought."

JENNA: "Thought, huh ..." Jo grins, ambling inside and starting for the steps as she glances back over her shoulder at the trail of water she's leaving behind. "I think I have a pretty good idea ... but a backrub's fine for now." With that she falls silent, trotting rapidly up the steps.

JUSTIN: * Shane clears his throat quietly and follows along after her, having a fair idea of the sort of favors she would want. He thinks better of asking for details, and decides that playing ignorant is the best way to buy time. "It doesn't look like we'll be able to get any proper meal tonight. Seems a pity to end a fine day with travel rations, but I guess it's better than nothing."

JENNA: "I guess bread and jerky aren't the end of the world." She pushes the door open and slips into the room, giving her leg a shake and splattering water on her pack. "Hurry with the bath! I'll just have to stand here and dry." She turns and looks at him, grinning. "I'll .. make sandwiches or something."

JUSTIN: * Shane pauses in front of her, reaching around to give her wet hair a toss. "/I'm/ not the one who needs to told to hurry, where bathing is concerned." He smirks, giving her forehead a loud, smacking kiss. "Jerky and bread sandwiches would be lovely, if you don't mind the labor." He pats her cheek and grins, letting his boots drop to the floor before he starts for the bathroom. "Just toss your wet clothes in, I'll leave the door unlocked."

JENNA: * Jo gives a soft 'tch,' making her way quickly to her towel and waiting for Shane to close the door before she strips and wraps the towel around herself. She then gathers her wet things and slinks over to the bathroom, wondering if she should knock or just open it. She decides, after a moment, to take the kinder route and knock before tugging it open and dropping the clothes inside.

JUSTIN: * Shane has just gotten undressed by the time the clothes arrive, and he aborts an instinctual lurch to cover himself, feeling fairly silly after the fact. He gathers up her clothes with his own and drapes them over the edge of the tub, reaching over to get the water running pleasantly hot. Before it's even full, he gets to work on scrubbing the clothes, humming quietly to himself as he goes.

JENNA: * Jo, in the meantime, busies herself with the sandwiches, letting the towel drop briefly so that she can work two-handed. She sends wary glances over her shoulder every so often until she's finished, setting them both aside and pulling the towel back on. She sighs, staring hungrily between the sandwiches and the bathroom door as she waits.

JUSTIN: * Shane does his best to hold to his word, making the process of cleaning himself a business only affair. He sets the clothes up to dry, and it's only then that he looks around with a blank look of suspicion -- and then rubs his face with an annoyed groan. Grabbing a towel and drying himself as fast as he can, he wraps it tight around his waist and eases the door open to take a careful look out into the room beyond. "...Jo?"

JENNA: * Jo looks up curiously, lifting one hand to wave. "The sandwiches are ready. Are you done?" She tilts her head, peering at him with interest and wondering why he hasn't come out yet. "What's the matter? Did the hot water run out?"

JUSTIN: "No, there's plenty of hot water left..." Shane fidgets, hesitating, then opens the door the rest of the way, revealing his towel-clad form. "I'm a little short on clothes, though." He grumbles, wandering out and snagging some of the clothing strewn about the room. After a moment, her first comment sets in, and he turns her a look from the side of his eyes. "...did you want to eat now? Or after your bath?"

JENNA: "Yes, now. If you don't get over here, I'll eat yours too." Jo's limited store of politeness and restraint seems to have run its course, and she snatches up both sandwiches threateningly. She then sets one down and pats the bed beside her. "Come on. I don't want to eat by myself."

JUSTIN: * Shane turns a longing glance toward the bathroom, looking back at the clothes in his hand. His stomach protests, however, at the thought of putting off food in favor of clothing. He sighs, dropping the handful on the bed and gripping his towel tighter. "All right, calm down. You'd think you hadn't eaten in days." He walks over to her side of the bed, and seats himself carefully, turning her a highly embarrassed look.

JENNA: * Jo grins, scooping up his sandwich and offering it to him. "It's comfortable this way," she says cheerfully, setting her food down on her knee in order to get a grip on her towel. "And anyway, this way our clothes stay clean just a little longer, right?" Never mind she cheerfully enjoys the thought of delaying his putting clothes on again.

JUSTIN: "Comfortable how?" He accepts his sandwich, almost reluctant to move even one hand from the job of securing his towel. He's perhaps even more worried about hers, however, as he gives it a very fearful stare. "Considering... we spends weeks in the dirt wearing one set of clothes, I'm not sure a few more minutes hanging up makes a noticable difference..."

JENNA: * Jo snorts. "Frankly, it's more comfortable without the towels at all." She shrugs, turning to takes a few bites of her sandwich. "But this is okay, too ... Besides, I'll just be taking them off again when I take my bath." She glances at him with interest. "It's not any worse than when you sit around in just your trousers."

JUSTIN: "Trousers and undergarments..." Shane corrects her, staring down at his towel again. "And a belt. My pants aren't notorious for slipping off of their own accord." He makes a face, and takes a large bite of his sandwich, trying to ignore her suggestion that it would more fun naked.

JENNA: * Jo sighs faintly, then turns her attention to her sandwich, eating quickly. "Do you want your backrub now or after I take my bath?" she asks between bites. "I don't mind either way." She polishes off the sandwich, scooting to the edge of the bed and sliding off to look at him curiously.

JUSTIN: * Shane peers up at her warily, pausing for a moment mid-chew. He shifts in his spot, then quickly tightens his hold on his towel when it threatens to open, and swallows hard. "I thought... you'd want to have your bath as soon as possible?" His eyes stare rather pointedly at her chest -- covered though it is by her towel -- as if this is somehow indicative of all his worries. "I'm... in a towel..." He mumbles quietly, as if he wasn't originally going to say it at all.

JENNA: * Jo tilts her head, shrugging. "Well, if it bothers you that much, I won't." She turns her head away, shrugging again, faintly. "I'll be out in a little bit." She turns to gather some clothes, still keeping a hold on her towel, then starts for the bathroom, tossing an absent wave over her shoulder.
