JENNA: * Jo is finished with her exercises long before Shane reappears, and she settles for lying lazily in the sand and staring at the sky. Though this is a less than thrilling activity, the scudding clouds are at least something to watch, and she finds herself relaxing in the loneliness of the shore. Before long, however, the ocean waves and cool breeze have combined to form a deadly lullaby, and she drops into a doze before she realizes what's happening. JUSTIN: * Looking for a person who is at least somewhat upright, Shane's initial scan of the beach leaves him rather disappointed. Before he can leave to spend the next few hours searching in vain, however, he notices the dark spot further down the beach head. He straightens, peering to see if his eyes are deceiving him, and then tuts quietly with a small grin. "And she calls me lazy." He crosses the beach with little hurry, seating himself in the sand beside her head and waiting to see if she'll notice his arrival. JENNA: * Jo doesn't appear to react to his presence, aside from rolling to face him with a drowsy sigh. It's several minutes before she moves again, yawning groggily as she opens her eyes and the strange figure next to her slowly comes into focus. "Nngh," she says. "Already done?" she asks vaguely after another moment, forcing herself upright and clearly having no idea how much time has past. JUSTIN: "Already done." Shane grins down at her, reaching over to tweak her nose. "I see you've kept yourself highly entertained while I was gone..." He flops over onto his side, propping himself up with his elbow, head in hand. "If you want to keep napping, don't let me interrupt." JENNA: "I'm fine," Jo responds drowsily, leaning down again to face him and yawning again. "Did you have fun?" she asks, squirming closer to him, as the cool breeze is now cooler than she really wants. Without waiting for an answer, she tugs his arm down so that she can rest her head against it and nestles into his shoulder, apparently intent on using him as a pillow and a shelter in one. JUSTIN: * Shane snorts quietly at the treatment, but he doesn't object -- rather, he reaches over and gives her side a good scritching. "Well, there's fun and there's fun..." He smirks down at her, huddling a bit closer. "It was nice to have a casual conversation with someone who hasn't already heard everything I have to say." JENNA: "Probably talked their ears off," she returns, reaching an arm up to wrap around his waist and tug him a little closer. "Doctor says I'm fully recovered ... but I already knew that," she says, offering a minor tidbit of how her day was spent. JUSTIN: * Shane gives her arm a squeeze, tutting quietly. "Bit late, but I guess it's the thought that counts." He smiles, leaning in over her to cuddle up. "I guess I can't blame him for being careful. You do have a habit of getting yourself hurt." JENNA: "I'm not that bad." Her voice is slightly muffled, but she lifts her hand to give him a slight punch in the ribs. "Nothing that would kill me so far." She lifts her head slightly to kiss at Shane's neck, then buries her face again with a sigh, apparently quite comfortable. JUSTIN: * Shane murrs quietly, turning his head to place a kiss against her cheek. "Well if it killed you, you wouldn't need a doctor, now would you?" His hand rubs at her side slowly, and for the moment he forgets that they're in plain view should anyone happen to wander onto the beach. "Not that I would ever let you get yourself killed..." JENNA: "I'll do my best to avoid it, either way," she answers, sounding amused. She finally tilts her head back, surrendering to wakefulness with a sort of comfortable resignation. "It's not my favorite thing to do, really." She turns her head again to look at the sky and sighs faintly. "We should probably head back ..." JUSTIN: * Shane nuzzles at Jo's hair, sighing loudly and dramatically. "Always in such a hurry, aren't you?" He tickles her side, leaning over to nip at her jaw playfully. "I wasn't aware we had any plans, but," he pauses to kiss her jaw, "if you insist." Patting at her stomach, he sits up and gives a long stretch. JENNA: * Jo wriggles away from the tickle, glaring up at him once he's straightened. "We don't have to ... but some of the folks come out fishing in the afternoons." She pushes herself up on her elbows, grinning. "I didn't really want to be in the way." She sits up the rest of the way, brushing sand from her clothes and hair. "Besides ... I need to wash all this sand off." JUSTIN: * Shane hops to his feet, brushing some sand from his clothing but otherwise no worse for wear. "Any excuse to get in the bathtub." He chirps, reaching over to haul her up (gently) by the waist. "I wouldn't be surprised if that was your intent from the beginning." JENNA: "I wouldn't go roll around in the dirt for an excuse to take a bath," Jo retorts, letting him pull her upright and pausing to dust off her trousers. "I'd just take a bath." She then gives a long stretch, pausing to look out at the water before she starts walking back toward the inn. "It's not like I'm being exclusive, you know," she says lazily. "You're welcome to come along anytime you like." JUSTIN: * Shane clears his throat pointedly, fixing his hat as he walks after her. "I'm fairly certain you have enough fun in there as it is, without having me along." He doubts she would agree with that asessment, but it's certainly better than any alternative excuses he could think of. "Besides, it's not built for two people." Such as that. JENNA: "The one in Jawaii certainly was," Jo replies comfortably, sticking her hands behind her head with a grin. "I could do with a bath like that." She pauses for a moment, gaze going distant in thought. "Yeah ... I could do with a bath like that," she repeats herself, then starts walking again. JUSTIN: * Shane arches a brow, coming up behind her and sliding his arms around her waist. "With a bath that big, I really /would/ have to worry about you drowning when I'm not looking." He kisses the top of her head loudly, and lets her go before walking again. "But I suppose I could... keep it under consideration." JENNA: "You'd better," Jo grumbles, walking a little faster as they enter the town proper. Though she's avoided their apparent notoriety so far, she's not inclined to push her luck, so she makes her way toward the inn as fast as she can. "Of course ... I doesn't have to be quite as ugly as the ones in Jawaii." JUSTIN: "That's one point in your favor, then." Shane doesn't quite see the reason for the rush, but he hurries along without complaint. "I wouldn't want people to think we're tacky. Just in love with baths." He grins a little, coming up alongside her. "So if you get the bathroom of your dreams, do I get any sort of bonus?" JENNA: * Jo shrugs, glancing back at him. "You know more about houses than I do ... make it any way you want. I just want the bath." She pauses for a moment, thoughtful. "And a nice bed." That thought puts a slight spring in her step as she continues walking. JUSTIN: * Shane snorts, then chuckles, again adjusting his speed to stay with her. "Well, I certainly can't argue with that. I'll try to keep your tastes in mind when I'm working on it." Which could make for a very interesting house, indeed, if he went overboard. "Within moderation, of course." JENNA: * Jo nods vaguely, glancing over her shoulder not at Shane but at the path back to the ocean. She has mixed feelings about anywhere they could possibly choose to build a house, but thinking back, something looking over the water seems surprisingly pleasant. As long as it's reasonably far from the town center. "Don't push yourself too hard," she says drily, grinning at him as she starts up the steps to the inn. JUSTIN: "There's no such thing as easy when you're involved, Jocasta dear." Shane hops lightly up the steps behind her, humming a bit as they make their way into the cozy inn. He tips his hat to the lady behind the counter, and starts for the stairs, looking across at Jo as he walks. "If you want, I could have some lunch ready for you when you get out of the bath." JENNA: * Jo tilts her head thoughtfully, watching him for a moment before mounting the steps. "Sure, if you want." It means she probably can't take her time, but a little sand isn't really worth a long soak anyway. "Might wash my clothes as long as I'm at it," she says absently, following him to their room. JUSTIN: * Shane grins a bit, not-staring at Jo's backside as he trots up the stairway behind her. "Want to wash mine while you're at it?" He tries to sound innocent. "I mean, as long as you'll be in there... One of us doesn't have a water-proof pack, remember." JENNA: * Jo makes a soft 'tch' noise, but she shrugs. "Sure ... might as well get it all done at once." She takes the key away from him and opens the door, pushing her way inside and making her way over to her pack to retrieve what other clothes she owns. "'Fraid you'll have to wash what you're wearing on your own time," she remarks. JUSTIN: "That was the plan, yes." Shane kicks off his boots and flops down on the bed face-first, letting out a long sigh. "Forget lunch. I think a midday nap is in order." He rolls over onto his back, watching her out of the bottom of his eyes with a lazy grin. "I'm sure you can fend for yourself." JENNA: * Jo arches an eyebrow, ambling over to smack him in the belly with one of her shirts. "If I'm washing your clothes, you're getting me food! You can take a nap /after/." She turns to retrieve his clothing as well, prepared to dump the lot on him if he disagrees. JUSTIN: * Shane grabs at his stomach defensively, though several seconds too late. "Okay! You could have just asked nicely!" Stretching for a couple seconds, he grunts loudly and finally springs up, scooting off the bed. "Remember, no drowning." He leans over and kisses her cheek. "Would hate to waste all that food." JENNA: "I'm sure you'd figure out something to do with it," Jo snorts, turning to tug his hair before he gets too far away. "Besides, I don't think the tub here's deep enough to drown in." She gets to her feet, arms loaded with clothes, and starts toward the bathroom. JUSTIN: * Shane reach back to smooth his hair, turning her a smirk over his shoulder. "Can never be too careful." He gives her a short wave and disappears out the door, shutting it behind him. He skips lightly down the stairs, getting only a few stares as he crosses the room, whistling, to place their lunch order. JENNA: * Once she's in the bathroom, Jo decides the best way to go about this is to wash the clothes, drain the tub, fill it again and then wash herself. She does, however, strip for the process and add her current clothes to the stack, doing her best to erase the stains of wear and travel from their gear. As she folds the last piece, she wonders if it's time to start shopping around again. Then she shrugs, running the water over and wondering if anything will dry before she's done. JUSTIN: * Shane doesn't spend too long on ordering their food, getting what he already knows Jo likes, and a little of what he's going to make her eat anyway. Instead of waiting around, he heads back to the room to relax, with promises that the food will be brought up to their room as soon as it's done cooking. Getting out of his coat, and unbuttoning his shirt, he collects one of his few books (now dry, and mostly undamaged) and takes to the bed to read. JENNA: * By the time Jo finishes with her bath, she is somewhat annoyed to discover that no, nothing has dried. She takes her time toweling off, though this does not seem to help, and resignedly gets a large towel to wrap herself in. It appears she will have to endure a couple hours of Shane flinching before her clothes dry. She pokes her head out the door, unsurprised to see he's returned, and then slips out, the clothes draped heavily over one arm while the other keeps her towel in place. JUSTIN: * Shane doesn't look up immediately, his attention focused on the pages in front of him. After a few seconds, he does acknowledge her entrance with his voice, however. "The food should probably be on its way any minute now. Have a nice soak?" JENNA: "Nice enough," she replies, glancing at him sideways as she looks for furniture to drape the clothes over. She makes use of the table, stool, armchairs and windowsill, hanging things a little awkwardly with one hand and giving a faint sigh. "Hot water, soap, who could ask for more, right?" Though a dry shirt would be nice, at the very least. JUSTIN: * Shane turns a page, smiling slimly. "That is the purpose of a bath, after all. There isn't much more you can ask for." He tilts the book away and rubs at his eyes a bit, before finally turning her his full attention -- a move that leaves him staring dumbly for a few seconds. JENNA: * Once she's finished hanging the clothes, Jo turns, noticing his stare and arching an eyebrow. "I didn't have anything dry," she says pointedly, then slips around to her side of the bed, lying down with a faint sigh. She keeps her back to him, partly out of pique and partly out of mercy -- at least if the towel slips, he won't be seeing anything else he doesn't want to. JUSTIN: * Shane grabs his book and quickly tries to return to his reading, though he doesn't so much read as stare at a jumble of letters. "I didn't say anything." He says shortly, intending to deny that he lack of clothing in any way affects him. "Do... do you want my shirt?" JENNA: "You didn't /have/ to," Jo grumbles, burrowing a little into her pillow in an attempt to stave off irritation. She's tempted to tell him no, she doesn't need his damn shirt, particularly since she's annoyed, but even so, it would be nice to have something on that doesn't require a constant grip. "If you want," she says dully in answer. JUSTIN: * There is no time wasted between Jo's response and Shane's reaction. His shirt -- already unbuttoned, conveniently enough -- is stripped and dropped onto the bed beside her, before he even has time to consider the awkwardness of being topless when the waitress arrives with their food. "It has to be better than a towel, right?" He bites at his lip, the knock on their door coming not a moment after. JENNA: * Jo sits up, about to turn for the shirt when the knock comes, but she stops in mid-motion, deciding to wait for Shane to retrieve the food before putting it on. "Something like that," she says, making an effort to keep her voice toneless. Then she lies down again, feeling strongly that it would be much more convenient just to lie around naked until everything was dry. JUSTIN: * Shane grabs his coat on his way to the door, pulling it on and feeling, oddly enough, even more naked at the feel of the rougher material against his bare skin. He grimaces, attempting to hold the coat closed with one hand as he unlocks and opens the door with the other. Sparing only a brief glance of his shoulder to make sure Jo hasn't (somehow) fallen out of her towel, he pulls the door open to allow the waitress entrance. JENNA: * Jo has done no such thing, pretending to sleep while the waitress wheels in the tray, glancing between the two of them strangely as she leaves it near the bed. "Just um.. bring it downstairs when you're ... finished," she says oddly, then inclines her head to them both and slips out the door. Jo opens one eye as she leaves. "Might as well have just left the coat off," she says. JUSTIN: * Shane glares at Jo for a moment, before turning to close and relock the door. "I /should/ make you wear it, but you'd hardly be able to walk in it." He grabs the cart and positions it closer to Jo, before shrugging his way out of the dirty coat and tossing it into the corner. "I was just trying to be decent." JENNA: "She probably thought she interrupted something," Jo retorts with an almost predatory grin, sitting up again and reaching for the shirt. "I doubt she would have minded you leaving it off, anyway." She pulls the shirt on over her towel, buttoning it down before she gets to her feet and lets the towel drop to the floor. JUSTIN: * Shane rolls his eyes away, making a face. "Can't you keep it around your waist? My shirts aren't /that/ big..." Almost as an afterthought, he turns her a sideways glance and snorts. "What do you mean by that? I'm fairly certain most people appreciate if others cover themselves when answering the door." JENNA: "No," Jo says shortly, making her way to the food. "That would be idiotic. Not to mention uncomfortable." She pokes around the tray interestedly, then glances at him again. "I mean exactly what I said." She snags a small piece of meat and pops it into her mouth, chewing thoughtfully. "I don't mind looking at you without your shirt on. You're kind of nice to look at that way." She snags a vegetable next, peering at it doubtfully before eating it as well. JUSTIN: * Shane glances down at himself, then away with a disgruntled, and embarrassed blush. "That's you, not everyone else. And I don't think she would be rude enough to stare at a stranger like that, even if she did share your biased opinion." He snags one of the plates from the tray and sits down on the bed, poking at the food thereon. "Besides, she looked at you just as much as me." JENNA: "That's because she thought she was interrupting something." Jo grins, picking up her own plate and following him back to seat herself next to him. "And she might not stare, but she'd definitely take a few, discreet peeks." With that, she happily digs in, swinging her legs a little as she does so. Apparently she's satisfied that she's correct in this particular instance. JUSTIN: "Let's not talk about this, all right? It's... ridiculous." Shane glares down at his food, looking particularly pouty and feeling rather picked on. His appetite seems to be missing in action, but he makes some half-hearted attempts at eating his meal, very pointedly remaining silent. JENNA: "Most people would take that as a compliment. You don't make any sense at all sometimes," Jo mutters, then devotes her attention to her food, eating rapidly despite a singular lack of interest in the food. She even mows through the vegetables without really noticing them. JUSTIN: * Shane slides her a sideways glance, pausing only momentarily on her bare legs. "It's only a compliment if you don't mind people staring at you like a hunk of meat." He has to admit, it only bothers him due to embarrassment, and he otherwise doesn't mind Jo liking the way he looks. But he won't admit it out /loud/. "Would you like it if a male waiter came in and ogled you?" JENNA: "I doubt I'd care very much unless he hit on me," Jo shrugs, popping another chunk of meat into her mouth and chewing thoughtfully. "So does that mean you don't like it when I stare at you?" she asks idly, once she's finished, and reaches for her drink. "Because I do, you know." JUSTIN: * Shane sets his plate aside, looking wholly uncomfortable. "I didn't say anything like that. Why should I care if you look at me?" He grabs his own drink, staring at it in an unfriendly manner. "We kiss and touch all the time, it's not like staring is somehow a big deal. I don't care either way." JENNA: "If you say so," Jo answers, then turns back to her meal, finishing it off rapidly and washing the lot down with her drink. Then she sets the plate aside and gives a long, comfortable stretch. "I think I'm ready for that nap now," she remarks, flopping backward. JUSTIN: * Shane picks his plate up from the bed, before Jo's flopping can unsettle the contents and spill them onto the blankets. "Finally something I can agree with." He says drily, moving the plate to the tray before getting to his feet and wheeling it away from the bed. "Just try to keep your shirt on while you sleep, okay?" JENNA: "Whatever," Jo sighs, rolling sideways and shifting to rest her head against her pillow. She doesn't bother with blankets, comfortable enough as it is and not particularly wanting any extra heat. The shirt's collar, quite of its own volition, falls open nearly to her shoulder, but there's very little she can or wants to do about that. She makes a disgruntled noise, curling up a little before closing her eyes. JUSTIN: * Shane shakes his head, turning to stare at her for a minute before he moves toward the bed again. His shirt is barely doing its job, but he makes the effort not to purposely stare at the very thing he's complaining about. It doesn't make much sense that he wants her to keep covered, and yet his eyes keep seeking out her bare legs. Giving his head another shake, he takes to the bed, wiggling out of his pants quickly before disappearing beneath the sheets. JENNA: * In spite of her restless irritation, it doesn't take Jo long to drop off, falling asleep with only a very drowsy murmur to account for it. She rests quite comfortably, though she does make her usual migration toward the warm person next to her in the course of her nap. And she seems fairly content to stay there in spite of the blanket between them, completely unaware of how much time is passing. JUSTIN: * It doesn't take Shane long to fall asleep, whether it be from actual weariness, or just the knowledge that if he's knocked out, he won't have to think too hard about his recent embarrassment. As per usual, just as Jo does, he does also, and only the blanket keeps him from latching onto her in his sleep. JENNA: * Several hours manage to pass before Jo shows any sign of stirring, body slowly becoming cranky from lack of use and movement. She gives a long stretch, finding herself surprisingly unrestricted and the room remarkably dark. She blinks blearily, almost sitting up before she realizes that Shane is, in fact, in bed with her, then she flops down again, yawning. Apparently the nap went considerably longer than she expected. JUSTIN: * Shane's slumbering self doesn't seem to mind the lack of activity as much as Jo, but her flopping helps to ease him along back toward wakefulness. He squirms a bit under the blanket, stretching while still half-asleep, and rolls in her direction. His arm does its best to wrap around her, but the blanket makes it a tight fit. JENNA: * Jo looks at him boredly for a moment, then reaches over to tug the blankets looser and permit his arm a little more freedom. From there she returns to her habit of stroking his hair, reflecting dully that he's much easier to deal with when he's asleep. She sighs then, sinking against her pillow again, and continues her ministrations. JUSTIN: * Shane mumbles in his half-sleep, thanking whoever or whatever freed him, and snuggles in closer to Jo, wrapping her with arm and blanket. He yawns expressively, and noses his way into the crook of her neck in search of cozy warmth. "Better..." JENNA: * Jo sighs, turning her head slightly to murmur, "If you say so ..." She rests her head against him for a moment, then shifts to a slightly more comfortable position. She looks out the window, wondering vaguely what time it is. "Hey," she says quietly, tugging gently at a lock of his hair. "It's kinda late." JUSTIN: * Shane murmurs again, lazily attempting to swat her away from his hair -- and generally failing, due once again to the blanket. "So go back to sleep..." He seems rather intent on following his own advice, burrowing as far into her as he can without pushing her off the bed. JENNA: * Jo makes a faint, disgruntled noise, permitting his burrowing without any more complaint than that. "I guess we didn't have any plans," she murmurs, sighing, and nestles herself against him, stroking his hair again and staring out the window. JUSTIN: "Mmm... no plans..." Shane wiggles around, becoming frustrated with the barrier separating the two of them. After a moment of struggling, he pulls away and kicks his way out of the blanket before flopping back onto Jo with a grumble. "Why weren't you under the blanket?" JENNA: "I never got under the blanket, remember?" Jo snorts, shifting her hand down to rub lazily at the back of his neck. "Comfy?" Her lips curve into an amused grin, but she doesn't say anything else, settling for another teasing tug at his hair before relaxing lazily again. JUSTIN: * Shane puzzles over this for a moment, before he manages to remember just what happened prior to their nap. He makes a muffled merfing noise, plucking at Jo's shirt -- his shirt -- and hides his face against her once more. "Not as comfy as you, it would seem." JENNA: "It's a little big, but yes." She tilts her head down to nuzzle him. "Comfy." She lifts her head sigh a very faint sigh and lets her hand slip beneath his collar to rub at his shoulders. "I guess you slept all right, though," she remarks with a grin. JUSTIN: * Shane gives a faint shrugging of his shoulders, apparently content to leave his face buried for as long as she'll allow it. "Guess all that socializing wore me out..." He tugs at the shirt again, apparently testing to see just how far down her legs it is. A sigh escapes him, and he retreats his hand to her side again, where it is presumed to be safer. "I suppose we'll have to find a way to wear ourselves out again, if we want to be up at any reasonably decent time tomorrow." JENNA: * Jo glares at him, giving his hair another tug and resisting the sudden, strong temptation to kick him. "Oh, I can think of any number of things that would accomplish that goal," she remarks instead. "But I doubt you'd be interested in several of them." She gives his hair a slightly sharper tug than usual. "I don't really want to move, anyway ... I don't mind staying like this." JUSTIN: * Shane tilts his head back with a quiet yelp, finally freeing his face from her neck. "If pulling my hair out was one of your suggestions, then you're right -- I'd rather pass." He reaches over to grab her offending hand, and brings it to his mouth to snap his teeth threateningly at it. "And if you don't want to move..." He yanks her over a bit, until she's off the blanket on her side of the bed, and then proceeds to pull the covering up over the two of them. "There." JENNA: * Jo rolls her eyes, muttering something very, very quiet that might be "Coward." Then she huffs a sigh and scoots down to reverse their positions, burrowing against his shoulder and pulling the covers up over her head. JUSTIN: * Shane snorts, deciding to ignore what he thinks he heard (as persuing it would only lead to a squabble like the one they had during the afternoon), and instead tightens his arms around her. "We have a whole lot of time to kill..." He starts off, though he honestly has no idea what sort of conversation to fill said time with. There is, of course, always the option of /not/ talking. JENNA: * Jo makes a slightly muffled noise, apparently still recovering from her fit of irritation. It's several minutes before she shifts again and replies, nudging the blanket down enough that she can peer out. She hesitates, then burrows again. "We could go back to the beach," she says, aware that the suggestion would completely derail any intentions of not moving. JUSTIN: * Shane scratches at the back of Jo's neck, staring down at her in the brief moment she makes herself visible. "You realize that would require moving." He shuffles down a bit, until his head is just under the blanket with her. "But if you want to, I won't object." He smiles, kissing at her nose. JENNA: "I think I can make the sacrifice," she mutters, tilting her head to kiss him before pushing herself carefully upright and attempting to stretch. "It's got a nice view, at least ... and there should be moon and stars enough for us to see it." She pauses, looking down at him, and reaches over to brush her fingers through his hair again, a hint of weariness in her expression. JUSTIN: * Shane leans in to give her a brief squeeze, and gives her another kiss before sliding off the far side of the bed. "We've been in this room all day, anyway. Won't hurt to get out for a while." He goes in search of another dry shirt to put on, finding a suitable contender in short order. "Besies, we'll have the whole beach to ourselves." JENNA: "Mmm." Jo slides off her side of the bed and wanders over to where her clothes are hanging, finding a pair of trousers and pulling it on with little ceremony. She seems, so far, content to keep the shirt she has. "I like the countryside here," she says after a moment. "It's quiet." JUSTIN: "It is." Shane buttons up his shirt, returning to sit on the bed and paw around the floor in search of his pants. Finding them halfway under the bed, he yanks them out with a sigh and gets back to his feet to pull them on. "It's easy to be alone when you want to be." JENNA: * Jo nods agreeably, waiting until he's clothed before pushing open the door and starting out. She doesn't seem particularly inclined to put her boots on, starting into the hall barefoot and stretching again. "It'd be a good place to hide out," she muses, mind momentarily backsliding to her previous occupation. JUSTIN: * Shane quickly grabs his boots and starts after her, apparently just as willing to go barefoot for the meantime, for the sake of keeping up with her. "With the reputations we tend to spread in other cities, I guess it's nice to have a place we can feel welcome at least." He finds it highly ironic that he should ever find himself in such a position, considering what he used to think of troublemakers himself. JENNA: * Jo glances at him as she starts down the steps, preferring in her own case not to be seen at all. "Well, at least we don't have any more cause to worry about dead clients." Or randomly attacking city guards, she remarks privately, deciding not to mention it aloud. She gives an absent wave to the person behind the counter, deciding it can't be too late if she's still up. JUSTIN: * Shane chuckles nervously -- the dead man in his bed of many years is still not a pleasant memory, and he most certainly would not want to repeat the affair in any form. "Hopefully we won't have to deal with dead anyone anymore. Violence is such a waste of energy." JENNA: "Mm, well, at least he went in his sleep. I presume." It takes a great deal of effort not to mention the guard this time. Instead, she distracts herself by stepping into the worn, dirt road and discovering she's not in a terrible amount of danger of cutting her feet. "Good," she says, largely to herself, and starts up the road toward the beach. |
