JENNA: * The cold water and its weightlessness are so inviting that Jo stays in the river much longer than she originally intended, flowing with the slow current one moment and pressing back against it the next. She's forgotten her original errand and almost forgotten Shane, for the moment returning to her life as a lone traveller. JUSTIN: * Even with his attempts to ignore everything around him -- Jo, time, and his own thoughts among them -- Shane can't help but eventually notice the quiet has gone on far longer than it should. Grudgingly, he slips the hat down from his face, and sure enough -- no Jo. Knowing full well that he might regret it, he gets to his feet and starts toward the river, face sour, to see what is taking her so long to catch a couple fish. JENNA: * Unsurprisingly, there are no fish by the riverbank when Shane arrives, only the fishing gear and Jo's clothes. Jo herself is nowhere in sight. Not on this bank or the opposite one or even in the water. The thin trees do little to hide the landscape, and it doesn't appear she's hiding behind one of them, either. JUSTIN: * Shane gives a quick look around, and when he doesn't see Jo, he's instantly annoyed. "I know you're angry, but that's hardly an excuse to hide like a child." He calls at the woods. With a closer look, though -- especially noticing her clothes -- his annoyance turns rather quickly to worry. "Jo?" His eyes turn to the water -- undisturbed, dark, with no sign of movement other than the current itself. His eyes widen and he rushes down to the bank, nearly tripping and falling over himself in his hurry to reach the water's edge. JENNA: * Before he's gotten far, however, the water in the middle of the river explodes abruptly upward, and Jo surfaces with a whooshing exhalation. She immediately swims for the closer bank, stopping only when the water's shallow enough for her to stand up, which she does, pausing to let it lap against her waist. It's only then that she notices Shane, and her expression becomes immediately defensive. JUSTIN: * Shane's run comes to a screeching halt, and his face is a mish-mash of reactions, probably none of which will appeal to Jo: first relief, followed quickly by resurging aggravation, which is promptly displaced by shock at the wet and naked woman, whose body is lit by bright moonlight. His jaw flops open as the confusion fizzles any exclamations he might have had for all above scenarios, and he quite simply falls on his back. It's only then that something gets forced from his throat, and it's rather anti-climactic at best. "I thought... you were catching /fish/..." JENNA: * Jo's expression changes to one of momentary puzzlement, and she walks the rest of the way out of the river to stand on the bank, looking down at him. "I meant to.. must have lost track of time." She sighs, rubbing her belly, as her stomach is threatening to growl loudly. "Great, now I'm even hungrier." JUSTIN: * Shane's eyes are shut for the meantime, but when he reopens them he finds a sight even more shocking than the one he first witnessed. "Jo!" His head turns sharply away from the sight, and his breathing seems to noticably increase. "Jo... why don't we just... eat some of our rations, okay?" JENNA: * Jo crouches next to him, reaching down to tug a lock of his hair. "Because I want fish," she says, then gets up and ambles over to her clothes, wringing her hair out and attempting to dry herself a little before she puts them back on. "I guess it really doesn't matter ... but I was looking forward to the fish." JUSTIN: * Shane cringes slightly as she leans closer, even if only to tug at his hair, and he only partially relaxes when she turns and leaves. His faces remains firmly situated in the opposite direction, not trusting to the sound of shuffling fabric. "Maybe I should do the fishing, and you go... dry by the fire, or something. Okay?" JENNA: * Jo glances over her shoulder at him, frowning slightly. "Well.. if you want to." She grins, finally tugging her shirt over her head, though she doesn't bother with the trousers if she's supposed to be drying by the fire. "I'll come looking for you if you don't make it back." JUSTIN: * Shane breathes out a quiet sigh when he hears her departing for the camp, and he finally turns his neck back around, the muscles sore from their forced repositioning. He sits up, giving it a brief rub, and attempts to brush some of the dirt from his coat. "Honestly... that girl is going to give me a heartattack, one of these days." Crawling over to her unused fishing gear, he starts to restring the rod, continuing to mutter to himself. JENNA: * Jo makes her way back to the fire with a sigh, tugging her tunic off again as she nears it and standing with her back to the flames for a little while. She's glad, at least, that Shane is no longer sulking, though abject terror makes her less than happy. After a few minutes, she turns to face the fire, humming quietly as she watches the flames. JUSTIN: * With his mind much more focused on the task than Jo's apparently was, Shane sets to work with great determination. He sits firmly on the riverbank, boots anchored against a large stone, and watches the water for ripples reflecting in the moonlight as he teases the fish with deceptive promises of tasty treats. With this (ridiculous) professionalism, it isn't longer than a couple of minutes before he gets his first bite. JENNA: * Jo continues turning back and forth for several minutes, enjoying the heat against her bare skin. It seems oddly luxurious, not to mention a little risky, but she remains that way for a while after she's gotten dry, holding her damp shirt near the heat and waiting for her hair to lose its lingering dampness. JUSTIN: * Though he has fairly good luck with the first fish, the second is slightly more paranoid, thus preventing him from a world record. But considering how long it can sometimes take, Shane is far from complaining. Two is, he decides, plenty, and he collects all the gear and starts back to camp with them in tow. JENNA: * Jo has finally settled on putting her clothes back on when Shane reappears, but she manages to look only slightly awkward as she bends to retrieve her tunic and trousers. "Good fishing?" she asks, surprised and chagrined that he's made it back so soon. JUSTIN: * Shane quickly drops his load at the edge of the campsite, face turning a bright red that is, gratefully, difficult to see in the orange glow of the fire. "Easiest catch I've had, actually. Jealous?" He quickly turns from the sight, as tempted as his eyeballs are to stay happily latched to the display of skin, and he pretends to take great interest in packing away the fishing gear. JENNA: * Jo shrugs, tugging her tunic over her head and trotting over to him with her trousers over her arm. She peers at the fish with interest, then shrugs again. "Eh, I've still been fishing longer than you." JUSTIN: "If by 'longer' you mean 'takes me an hour to get the same result.'" Shane smiles impishly, quickly running out of things to pack away. He turns -- not realizing how close she is -- and jolts at the sight in front of him. "Jo, for goodness sake -- why are you walking around half-naked still?" He turns back to the gear he just put away, blushing even deeper, and tries to find a reason to excuse his need to look away. JENNA: "I'm covered," Jo says, somewhat annoyed. "And it's not like you haven't seen it before," she repeats her point, but she does move away, tugging her trousers on. She glances at him again. "Going to do one of your herb and spice numbers on those?" JUSTIN: * Shane grumbles slightly, muttering something that is wholly unintelligable at the volume he's currently using. Snagging the fish he, lays the cloth out by the fire and grabs a knife, sitting down to work -- one spare glance at Jo to make sure nothing else is showing before he answers her last question. "I thought you were starving? Spicing them up will take longer... I can, if you're willing to wait." JENNA: "I was just asking, since you're cooking this time.. it's okay either way." She glances at him sideways, seating herself near the fire, then stares quietly into the flames. "Have you thought.. about where you'd want to build it?" she asks suddenly, looking at him again. JUSTIN: * Shane guts the fish with little hurry, finding it less embarrassing to watch them than to watch Jo. "I... hadn't really..." He shifts in his spot, shoulders hunching as he resists a slight shudder -- and briefly wonders what brought it on. "I don't really want to be in a big, heavily populated place... I may have grown up in the city, but I'm a private person, you know?" Private, shy, and completely lacking in confidence most days. JENNA: * Jo nods in agreement, tossing a twig on the fire. "I don't want.. it to be anywhere crowded." She doesn't bother giving her reasons, largely because they are similar on some counts, and he probably wouldn't like the other counts. "I'd.. feel safer that way," she says finally. JUSTIN: "Still worried about your old playmates?" Shane asks quietly, voice turning rather somber. There's little else he can think of that she would need to feel safe from. He pours some water from his canteen over his hands to wash off the muck, and grabs his pack to fish out some spices. As long as he's taking his time, he might as well do some simple sprucing up. JENNA: "Better safe than sorry," she says quietly, scratching her cheek. It's true she hasn't seen hide nor hair of any of them since her abrupt dismissal -- and the incident in Al De Baran, but the fact remains -- should they ever inquire about the book again, the road will lead to her and Shane. As her mind drifts, she recalls the encounter with the mercenary at the stable and frowns, chewing her lip. JUSTIN: * Shane only does some minor work on the fish, starting to get rather uncomfortably hungry himself, and he grabs some stick to quickly start shaving them down. "I can't argue with that." He pauses for a moment at a thought, then begins to chip at the sticks again, shaking his head. It occurs to him that Hugel might be ideal -- for him, anyway. But considering their recent arguments, it might not be best to try and sell the idea to her tonight. JENNA: * Jo stands up again, retrieving her pack and laying out her cloak on the ground. She flops down on it (carefully), curling up and using the pack to rest her head on. "It's still.. a little hard for me ot think about," she says, staring into the fire. "But ... it might be best." JUSTIN: * Shane nods a little, concentrating on skewering the fish properly, and then planting them to cook over the fire. "Whatever's best." He answers, voice almost distant. He rinses his hands once more and dries them on his coat before taking it off and tossing it over with his pack. Finally finished preparing their dinner, he turns to look at her, half-frowning, and crawls over to sit beside her. Most of his aggression seems to be gone, having worn out its welcome yet again, and so he takes to combing at her hair. "As long as we're there together, I don't care where we end up." JENNA: * Jo nods, closing her eyes against the touch of his hand. "That's good enough." She opens them again, staring into the fire before stretching her legs out once more. "I didn't want to fight," she says after a moment, then falls silent, once again finding difficulty putting her thoughts into words. "I do want to go, I just ..." JUSTIN: * Shane settles down onto the cloak behind her, propped up on his forearm so he can continue to watch her face. "It doesn't matter anymore..." He leans over, nestling into her neck and breathing out his stress. "I shouldn't have made a fuss in the first place. Especially not in front of your parents." JENNA: * She reaches up to tangle her fingers briefly in his hair, then releases him. "They probably understood.. they raised me for a while, anyway." She gives a tired smile, shifting her gaze to the fish for a moment. "We just won't fight the next time we go, right?" JUSTIN: "I'll try to get along." Shane nuzzles, muffling his voice in her neck even more. He pulls back shortly after, to give the fish a look of his own. Too comfortable to move, he does his best to stretch over Jo and give the sticks a good turn -- nearly losing one to the fire before he relents and shuffles over on his knees. "See, it's times like these that I would like having someone else to cook for me..." JENNA: * Jo grins, sitting up and wrapping her arms around her knees. "Well, right now the options are you and me. House or not, I think servants would be a little bit overboard." She turns in place to face the fire. "Besides, there's time for more later.. after we're not distracted by hunger." JUSTIN: * Shane sighs lightly, staring at the fish and wishing they would hurry and cook themselves -- even if he only put them up a few minutes ago. "Time for more?" He glances over his shoulder at her, lifting a brow slightly. "Does that mean this is going to be a late night?" He smirks, shifting to sit on his butt again, pondering the dangers of innocent insinuation. JENNA: * Jo leans back lazily, then gives him a weary smile. "Well ... we could turn in early if you want ..." She straightens again, arching a brow, expression doubtful. She doesn't appear to have any expectations beyond a good snuggle before turning in for the night, though the possibilities obviously intrigue her. "Either way, I am pretty hungry." JUSTIN: "I don't know about an early turn in..." Shane gives the fish a turn, and plucks at his pants with uncharacteric impatience. It shouldn't be too much longer, and then they can finally eat. "We're in no rush, right? Hugel isn't going anywhere." He turns her an innocent smile, privately wondering at his peculiar behavior. JENNA: "Well, I hope it isn't going anywhere.. that would be inconvenient." Jo looks faintly amused by his impatience, though she's feeling her own fair share. Unable to make the fish cook any faster, she settles for straightening her cloak again and getting to her feet to join him near the food. JUSTIN: * Shane readjusts the fish once more and turns to look at Jo as she approaches. "And we don't need anymore inconvenience. I think we've already had enough for three lifetimes." He reaches a hand out, inviting her to settle in by his side so he can wrap his arm around her shoulders. JENNA: * Jo settles next to him, comfortably willing to accept that embrace and wait for the food. The short walk over to join him has reminded her that she actually is fairly hungry, and she leans against him with a faint sigh. "Maybe we're on the road to less inconvenience," she says vaguely, watching the fish roast. JUSTIN: * Shane tugs her properly tight and close, welcoming the warm comfort -- even with the heat of the fire, there is something more appealing about Jo's bodyheat. "Well I certainly hope so." He reaches over and plucks up one of the sticks, giving the cooked fish a sniff before lowering it down in front of Jo's face. "I'll let you be the taste tester." JENNA: * Jo looks at the fish warily before leaning forward to take a delicate sniff. When the scent does not offend her, she takes a bite of it, pulling the meat away in her teeth and chewing thoughtfully. She appears to give the matter great consideration, finally swallowing. She glances at him sideways and grins. "Seems done to me." JUSTIN: * Shane places the stick in her care and quickly grabs the other, settling in with a relieved sigh. "And by now, I'm hungry enough for two fish." He blows on a section of the crisp meat for a moment, then takes a merry bite, chewing away with little care for the heat. He swallows, smiling in satisfaction, and gives Jo a squeeze. "If I'm not careful, I'll pick up your disproportional appetite." JENNA: "My appetite is perfectly healthy," Jo retorts between bites, wrinkling her nose at him. "It's perfectly natural to be hungrier after waiting." She focuses most of her attention on eating from there, trying to make the meat last in spite of her hunger. Her efforts, however, come to very little, and she's done with her meal very quickly, sighing as she snaps the stick in two and tosses it on the fire. JUSTIN: * Shane chuckles, watching her with a little less than half left on his own stick. He pinches a bit of the meat between his fingers, tearing it off, and leans over to touch it lightly against her lips. "I'd cook some more, but I'd rather not pay attention to fish on sticks when there are better things to fascinate myself with..." He places a kiss against her cheek, then smiles innocently and goes back to his meal. JENNA: * Jo glares at him, then nestles in suddenly, turning and ducking her head to place a string of kisses from his jaw down the line of his throat. In the meantime, her hands pluck a chunk of meat from the fish he holds, and she pulls away to pop it quickly into her mouth. "That's true, isn't it?" she says, returning his innocent smile. JUSTIN: * Shane's eyes widen slightly at the sudden flurry of kisses, and he starts to lean away from her -- trying not to giggle -- when he spies the piece of fish popping into her mouth. "Oh, now that is just sneaky." He puts on a look of mock hurt, catching her chin in his hand and inspecting her lips with scrutiny for any sign of the lost morsel. "You'd better pay up for that fish. One free sample was plenty." JENNA: * Jo sniffs, delicately removing her chin from his hand and tilting her head to watch him with interest and mischief. "And just what method of payment are you suggesting?" she inquires, brows lifted, settling her cheek against her fist. JUSTIN: * Shane tugs on some of her hair, gently, head tilting as if to consider the state of affairs. "Well, you have no more fish. And I certainly don't think jerky covers the cost." He runs a finger up and down the back of her neck, still looking lost in his thoughts. "It does seem you have no bargaining tools... Perhaps I'll just have to think of a punishment suitable to the crime." JENNA: * Jo's brows lift a notch higher, interested despite knowing the statement is probably a touch more innocent than it sounds. "Punishment, hm? Don't be too hard on me ..." An impish grin touches her lips, and she inches closer, daring him to do what he will to her. JUSTIN: * Shane almost feels silly now, knowing full well he's probably getting himself in over his head. Despite such worries, however, he brushes his fingers up beneath her chin, and draws her in closer. "I'm a gentle and merciful man... I'm sure leniency can be arranged..." He smiles tightly, letting his unfinished meal drop to the ground, all but forgotten. Leaning in to meet her, he watches her eyes with interest and waits to see just what she'll do with such prompting. JENNA: * Jo doesn't take any notice of the fish, herself, busy responding to Shane's suggestion with a warm, lingering kiss. Both hands free, she twines one arm around to his back with an insistent tug, the other plucking lazily at his shirt. As punishments go, she seems to find this one remarkably pleasant, though concern about his usual jitters bars her from being terribly creative with it. JUSTIN: * So far, so good, Shane thinks to himself, murring against Jo's lips as he returns the kiss. He sweeps her in closer, circling both arms around her back, and draws her away from the fire -- to a distance much safer for people who aren't paying attention. JENNA: * Jo makes a sound somewhere between a purr and a growl, arm tightening around him as her other hand creeps upward to toy with the collar of his shirt. She draws the kiss out as long as she dares before parting, and she darts another, teasing touch against his lips before catching his gaze and tilting her head toward her cloak and pack. Though only slightly more comfortable, it nevertheless trumps dirt and tree roots. JUSTIN: * Shane takes a moment to catch his breath -- inconspiciously as he can -- before he turns his eyes to see what she's referring to. Smiling crookedly, he gets to his feet with her, and his arms scoop her up to carry her toward the makeshift bed, where he lays her down. He sinks down with her, and trails a finger down the ridge of her nose with a grin. "I'm terrible at discipline." He dips his head down, kissing at her neck tenderly. JENNA: * Jo wrinkles her nose at his statement, running her fingers lazily through his hair. "I imagine there are some who would disagree," she murmurs, tilting her head to nuzzle him. "I certainly can't complain about your methods." Her mouth curves into a grin at this thought. JUSTIN: * Shane curls his arms beneath her, settling gently but firmly against her while he attends to her neck. "I think you're more than a little biased." He murmurs, voice muffled by her skin. After a moment he pulls back, breathing deep and staring down at her face with a contented smile. "And since you're the only one who will ever get this treatment from me, there's not much to base a comparison on, now is there?" JENNA: * Jo's grin widens at this, but she forces herself to smooth it out, eyebrows lifting. "Are you suggesting you can't just take my word on the matter?" She leans up to kiss him again, though she doesn't linger quite as long on this one. "And here I was hoping my honest opinion was good enough for you ..." She affects a sigh, lowering her head to nuzzle along his throat and return the treatment she just received. JUSTIN: "Well, I suppose you have been honest with me lately..." Shane tilts his head, grinning at the attention to his neck and wiggling a bit against her. "I guess I can give you the benefit of the doubt." He moves a hand from underneath her, touching it to her head and stroking the fingers back through her hair. "And... maybe then some..." JENNA: "I do try," she murmurs against his skin, borrowing his movement to both press closer and shift slightly downward. "Works better that way, don't you think?" Instead of trailing back upward, however, as she normally would, instead continuing to nuzzle downward to his collarbone. JUSTIN: * Shane shifts a bit to accomodate her relocation, watching her with curious eyes somewhere between anticipation and hesitation. "Going somewhere?" He grins slightly, scritching at her sides with his fingertips. "You aren't hiding from me, are you? Because I think I can still see you." JENNA: * Jo grins, not answering at first in favor of nudging at the collar of his shirt and kissing gently at the newly exposed skin. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere but here," she answers agreeably, nuzzling him again and grinning. "It's no fun if you can't see me." JUSTIN: "I'll agree with that." Shane answers, shivering slightly as she kisses at his collar. His hands rub her sides affectionately, and he nuzzles into her hair with a soft exhale. A slight blush is on his cheeks, for more than one reason, but he tries his best not to let his shyness get in the way of their moment. JENNA: * Jo seems content not to take her exploring any farther south, alternating between nuzzling and kissing along the line of his collar. She pauses after a moment, breathing out a low sigh, then nuzzles against his neck, apparently happy to have been permitted to do so. JUSTIN: * Shane finds the treatment increasingly pleasant, relieved when it turns out it's all she has in mind -- any further south, and he's sure his panic defense would have kicked in. He shakes those thoughts away before he can spoil his good mood, then shifts downward to find Jo's exploring lips and treat them to some attention from his own. JENNA: * Jo returns the treatment with a pleased murmur, caught between his warm weight and the admittedly less forgiving ground. It's with reluctance she pulls away from him, smiling faintly as she leans her head back. "If nothing else," she says with a faint grin, "a house will mean more comfortable places to do this sort of thing." JUSTIN: * Shane chuckles quietly, dipping his head to kiss her forehead before leaning back to view her face again. "See, I knew you'd find at least something to like about the idea." His arms slide under her and he lifts, turning in place until he's on the bottom, and she's lying on top of him. "Well, hopefully this will be sufficiently better in the meantime." He strokes at her hair, smiling softly from his new place on the ground. JENNA: * Jo grins down at him for a moment, then she sniffs, leaning in to bump foreheads with him for a moment. "I think it'll do ..." She relaxes then, letting her head roll sideways slightly before lifting it once more. "I just need some time to get used to the idea," she murmurs in reference to the house, gaze dashing sideways for a moment. JUSTIN: * Shane hugs an arm around her loosely, continuing to pet at her hair when able. "I know." He leans up to kiss her lightly, then settles again with a slight sigh. "There's no hurry... I promise. If... if you want to hold off on it, we can. It'll be easier for both of us if we wait until you're ready, right?" JENNA: * Jo shakes her head, letting her face slip down to rest beside his, cheek against cheek. "I wouldn't know if I was ready or not ... so now's as good a time as any." She draws back slightly, turning him a puzzled look. "Though we really can't build until we know where, anyway." She wrinkles her nose at him and grins, bending to kiss him, also lightly. JUSTIN: * Shane kisses back, blushing slightly at this reminder. "That's very true, isn't it..." He moves his hand to her cheek, brushing it softly with the back of his fingers. "Guess we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves either way, then." His arm tightens around her firmly, tugging her into a squeezing hug. "Mmm. Better things to think about right now." JENNA: "Agreed," she says contentedly, lifting one arm to stroke at his hair before bending to kiss him again, this time with clear intent to make it last. Her other hand plays almost absently with the collar of his shirt, fingertips following much the same path as her lips did earlier. JUSTIN: * Shane murrs quietly, eyes sliding almost reluctantly closed -- her face is a pleasant view -- as he returns her kiss with warmth. A hand finds the back of her head, gently holding her into the kiss, while his other rests leisurely against her side, just waiting. JENNA: * Jo grins into the kiss, giving the shirt a lazy, suggestive tug before releasing it entirely and letting her hand slide away toward safer territory. She draws back, reluctant, about to say something, but something catches her attention out of the corner of her eye, and she turns her head. "Ah -- your dinner," she says blankly. Shane's discarded meal landed close enough to the fire to catch a few errant sparks, and these were enough to set it ablaze. "Crap --" She bolts upright clumsily, tangling with her companion. JUSTIN: * Shane looks somewhat pouty at the broken kiss, but his eyes follow her gaze off to the side, and he startles at the sight. "Oh, my." His attempts to get up seem to be incompatible with her own, making the entire affair take twice as long as it should. "Damnit, I'm such an absent-minded fool." He mutters, grabbing a canteen and uncapping it as he scampers toward the small blaze. JENNA: * The pecos squawk loudly and with apparent amusement at this sudden rush of activity, and Jo gives them an idle stare as she hurries over to help, her contribution being to kick some loose dirt over the stick. "Well, that wasn't part of the plan, was it?" she mutters, though there seems to be little danger of setting the forest ablaze. JUSTIN: * Shane plops down on his knees next to the charred and muddy remains of his meal, sighing with clear aggitation. "Not exactly, no..." He snags the stick and snaps it in half, tossing it onto the fire. "And what do you think is so funny?" His eyes turn to the birds, and he moves over to knock one on the beak. "Wouldn't be laughing if it caught your feathers on fire, I bet." JENNA: "That would be a sight to behold, though, wouldn't it?" Jo's grin has an oddly vicious edge, somewhat annoyed at the interruption and taking it out on the birds. She sighs, digging out some more food for them. "I guess we'd better sleep, anyway," she says regretfully, ambling back toward the fire. JUSTIN: * Shane turns his eyes up to the sky, noting the moon's position with a slight grimace. "I suppose you're right about that." He ruffles his bird's feathers and walks back toward Jo's makeshift bed. "Even if Hugel isn't going anywhere, we've got a schedule to keep... sorta." A slight grin sneaks on his face, but he rubs it away and starts to get out of his coat. JENNA: * Jo glances down at her cloak, debating whether they can both remain there comfortably for the night. Then she shrugs and ambles over to sit down, lounging lazily back against her pack. "There are better places to camp around for a few days, yeah?" She grins at him, wrinkling her nose. JUSTIN: "Much better places." Shane agrees, without giving it too much thought -- always safer that way. He throws his coat down in a buddled mess for a pillow, and fishes out his cloak to add to their small sleeping quarter. "I hope I don't spoil myself by having my own bed again." He smiles faintly, sitting down and working off his boots. JENNA: * Jo grins, tempted to suggest she won't give him the chance, but she restrains herself, instead reaching out to rub at his shoulders. "There's probably no helping it ... you get spoiled just saying at an inn." Then she leans back again, turning to nestle down on the makeshift bed. JUSTIN: * Shane lets himself down into the cloaks, packing his coat tighter and tucking an arm around it to hold it under his head. "Oh, I'm not that bad, am I?" He smirks, reaching over to give her cheek a teasing pinch. "I'd say you and your baths are probably the bigger concern." JENNA: * Jo sniffs, nudging closer to him to poke him in the belly. "Baths get me clean. they do not soften me up. 'Soft beds make soft fighters,' that's what they told me when I started training." She grins, then, making to draw back and rest against her pack once more. JUSTIN: * Shane follows her back, keeping his eyes on her own as he moves. "And hard beds make my back hurt." He grins, landing a kiss on her nose. "I guess I'll have to find a happy medium, somehow." He drops back onto his pillow again, watching her with a content smile. The arguments and stress of before seem long forgotten, which will undoubtedly make sleep that much more comforting. JENNA: * Jo wrinkles her nose at him, relaxing into her pack with a drowsy sigh. "Well.. I'm sure we can manage that, one way or another." She turns her head to look skyward, smiling for a moment before letting it drop back. "I guess we can sleep in a little tomorrow, if you want to." The smile turns into a grin and she arches a brow, suggesting this is a great concession from her. JUSTIN: * Shane crosses his legs, tucking both arms under his head and looking quite comfortable. "Well, you know me..." He smiles slyly, turning her a look from the corner of his eye. "If you don't get me up, my body has absolutely no problem sleeping the day away." He wiggles a bit, settling in, and closes his eyes with a small yawn. JENNA: "And you can believe that I won't let you," Jo grins, though she privately admits she's perfectly happy to let him sleep for a while. "Good night, at least," she murmurs, letting her eyes close as she settles against her pack, this time with an air of finality. |
